Re: [Mets Fanz United] Ichiro

Giving Johnson a little bit of break since he's not started as much
as Gomez, but I read that Laday? the old OF for the Mets is in the
minors. He's probably got his tkt punched last night for the NY.
Green and Alou is reversed, Green can be back by Sunday but Mo no one
seems to know.

I've heard that they do want the young guys flanking him but we've
seen that Gomez has at least 2 yrs to go before he's a starter and I
think Martinez is in AA ball so he's probably on that same or later
time table. Ichiro with a 4-5 year deal will make that outfield
solid. I see no down side, oh and he's not 40 years old.

with some power, with the inconsistancy of our three, four, five guys
this year. Gomez needs more seasoning, they do predict him and this
Fernando Martinez who is playing down in Binghamton to be flanking
Beltran in the outfield in a few seasons. Now I just watched a guy
who hustles and plays all out Endy Chavez go down with a hammy pull,
the Mets might be looking for outfield help soon. Alou I guess is
expected back soon, Green may take a little longer, none of the other
guys impress much Newhan, Johnson etc., when do the Mets take another
look at Milledge or is he still on the dl or make some kind of trade
to either add depth or another bat?

Im not sure about Ichiro going to the Mets. I actually discussed this on another board, and the Mets should be trading for Tori Hunter. This way the Mets don't...

Well let me clarify something I'm not talking about trading for Ichiro, but sign him next year. I think though Hunter would want to play CF , ala Camron a few...

I agree that Hunter would be worth trading for but unlikely, that would leave the Twins with no right handed power to protect Morneau, I disagree that Delgado...

Ichiro and Hunter would not be good fits in my opinion. 1. We have Beltran for CF so that is a position we don't need to cover, eliminating Hunter. 2. We have...
