Harvard Sportsmen's Club to talk about 2009 MetroWest Tactical upcoming events,
assign MD's/crews to our club matches, schedule work party (our 40' trailer has
become kind of packed), and discuss preparation for New England Regionals.

Fellow shooters.
It's the time of a very important year for Metrowest Tactical.
We've matured enough to be honored by the shooting community to host 2009 New
England Regional Match. The dates are August 15-16. Online registration will
begin after May 1-st at www.matchreg.com . Set-up will start a few days prior to
match. VIP shoot day is Friday Aug 14.
Match will be of 12 outdoor and 2 indoor/no light stages.
Interesting to help with the match (full time helpers shoot for free): build
stages, set-up, SOing, etc., (no previous experience required) please e-mail me

Due to inclement weather forecast the practice is officially
cancelled for tomorrow and moved to the next week.
The new date is 3/9 7pm, followed by the next scheduled practice on
3/16.
Stay warm, consider dry firing instead ;-)

The results of the match are now posted at www.matchreg.com/sw and
we had a good showing in the awards section for our Metrowest Tactical
shooters.

   Dave Solimini came in 1st place in the CDP Sharpshooter division
beating 17 other sharpshooters and 2 experts.  He was promoted to CDP
Expert.

   Dave Ritchie came in 3rd place in the SSP Sharpshooter division
beating 27 other sharpshooters, 20 experts and 2 masters.  He was
promoted to SSP Expert.

   Michael Joffe took home an award for 7th place SSP Sharpshooter and
Richie Netinho took home an award for 4th place ESP Marksman.

   Congrats guys, well done!

Hello All,

We are fortunate to have an active, friendly group of people who
organize and officiate IDPA events.  We welcome all motivated
individuals to join in and the group has been indeed growing steadily.

One way to improve your level of participation is to become a
certified SO.  It really helps your game a lot too, trust me!

Several people have asked when the next SO class will take place.
Well here is your chance!

Our friends at WPRC (Boylson, MA) have organized an SO class and
there are 2 slots available for those who are interested (and quick
to act).

Here is the detaied info:

Sunday March 15th 7:45am – 4:30pm at WPRC

Active IDPA membership required. Bring your card or know your number.

Bring gear as if shooting a match -  100 rounds.

Cost is $25.

The match agenda would be to give shooters choices of how to approach
stages. There is going to be one reminding us of stage 3 of the
classifier, with the "twist". Basically, those who come to shoot the
match, will see quite a few "twists" there.
The other things included in shooters' bags are going to be:

Warm atmosphere
Hot coffee/donuts
Hand warmers

No suntan lotion would be offered this time.

Greetings fellow MWT shooters:

On Monday we will be doing several drills using flashlights - while the lights
are on.  The idea is to practice your shooting grips while in possession of the
light without actually dimming the range lights.  This will be beneficial to
those of us planning on shooting the indoor nationals in February.

If you don't have a flashlight, or if you are not going to the indoor nationals
you can shoot the same drills without a light.

Counting this Monday there are only five practices before the big match so we
should use that time to brush up on our skills.

Hello, fellow shooters.
It has being another successful year for Metrowest Tactical IDPA
Group. We’ve had more matches, better participation, more stages, more
props and more round count, more volunteers to MD and SO, then for
previous years. And, keeping up our tradition, we are going to hold
our 4-th winter IDPA Match.
The name of the match “Frozen Penguin” became so popular, that folks
in Pennsylvania named their winter IDPA sanctioned match the same
way,… well, even  before us. So, trying to avoid any discrepancy, we
have come up with new and authentic name for our well known in the New
England, “Nor’easter IDPA Match”.
This season, Nor'easter will take place on January 24, 2009 at Harvard
Sportsmen’s Club.
Registration at 9:15, safety briefing at 9:45. first shot at 10:00 am.
Expect to enjoy 1 indoor/low light stage, 4 outdoor stages.

I’m looking for the volunteers to help set-up and SO the match.

Greetings MWT Shooters!

Our next club match will be held on the day after Thanksgiving,
Friday 11/28/2008.  Registration will start at 10:15 AM in the
clubhouse; safety briefing at 10:45 AM; and first shots at 11:00 AM.

We are planning on 1 indoor low light stage and 6 outdoor stages.
Minimum round count is anticipated to be around 90 (we are still
working on a couple more stages).

Would anyone availble to SO or help out with the setup, registration,
breakdown, etc. send me an e-mail off the list at
jtcatterall@... to let me know of your availability?  I would
like to start setting up around 9:00 AM.
