Ok guys, hopefully everyone enjoyed our first outdoor practice of
2008... we couldn't have asked for better weather.  Thanks to Rick P
for helping me.

Darius has offered to help run the next practice on May 19th (3rd
Monday) but we need someone else to help out.  Don't hesitate to step
up even if you haven't done this before.  Without everyone
participating it will be a challenge to run 3 practices a month.

Please contact me directly via my email if you are available to help
Darius.  I expect to get a bunch of responses so also let me know what
other dates/months would work- if you haven't done this before I'll
make sure to pair you up with an experienced person.

Hello, shooters.
MWT is adding outdoor practices to our existing indoor practice
schedule. Added events will be running at action pits, on 3-rd Mondays
of the month, from April to October, between 5.00 pm and 7.30 pm. Open
to public, our practices are very friendly. Bring your carry rig,
gear, at least 150 rounds of ammo and positive attitude. Bring your
friends to have fun together with the fastest growing IDPA chapter in
New England.

I've used labsafety.com for eye and ear protection.  Great service.
They've got a great selection of ear plugs and you can buy them in
boxes of 100 (lots cheaper than buying 10 at a gun store).

I'd like to share a few facts on this.  I realize that this is not the
place to debate "politics" of the HSC but some things are very
important to know.

-The current president, Paul Innamorati, was not the president on the
EBoard when HSC welcomed our chapter to HSC.  To my knowledge the other
Eboard members were.

-Michael Joffe has attended more meetings at the HSC as our IDPA chair
than probably anyone on this Yahoo Group.

-Greg is an active action shooter at the HSC as Michael mentioned- he
has our combined (IPSC and IDPA)interests in mind.

I encourage you to talk to people that have been active in action
shooting and at the club meetings at HSC before making any decisions on
this (offline please).  Talk to Michael Joffe and Dan Hurley (IPSC
chair) for more details as to what the fact are.  I don't think we'll
get the information we'll need the day of the elections.

Guys and Gals:

     I have no idea what the challengers to the E-Board of HSC are referring to
when they claim
that things need to be changed right away.  The present E-Board are the same
folks who
authorized the sponsorship of our IDPA chapter at Harvard and  provided us with
the seed
money to do things like buy stands, timers and the trailer.   If not for them,
we could not have
made such a strong start.

     I see no reason to vote out the current E-Board who has treated us so well.

     Regardless of how I see it, or, for that matter, how Michael Joffe does, I
urge all who are
HSC members to join me at the Annual Meeting, listen to the speeches, and vote
as your
conscience dictates.

     This meeting is going to be a sizzler!

hurry."  What are these issues that you are speaking of?  What is
wrong at HSC that these candidates vow to fix and how are they going
to fix them?

I'm trying to understand what the difference is between the two
groups.  Clearly there is some significant issue(s) here, but it isn't
clear to me at all what that issue(s) is reading the candidates'
statements.

Fellow Harvard Sportsmen's Club members,

An important event is coming up – Annual Members Meeting February
21st.

The future direction of the Club is seriously at stake.  Right now
the board is grossly underrepresented by two categories of members –
pistol shooters and Law Enforcement personnel.  I trust you would
agree that our interests need to be represented.

There is a group of candidates challenging incumbents who deserve our
support:

Jim Ring- President
Greg Newman- Vice president
Pat Natoli – Board member

Many of you have seen them around many times since they almost "live"
in the Club, for years having worked hard on numerous events,
programs, and projects.  Greg is a competitive pistol IPSC shooter
recently discovering IDPA and an active-duty police officer. Pat, a
cowboy action competitor and a police dispatcher, has been kindly
taking care of thirsty and hungry competitors at all the matches that
we have had and you certainly remember her fondly. She is also very
active with youth programs in the club. Jim is a former club
president coming out of retirement as a distinguished police officer
to run for the President again because he feels strongly that affairs
need to be straitened out in a hurry.  Rightly so. All are
instructors and trainers.

In any case, this is a chance to see old friends, meet new ones,
enjoy a great meal at 5:30 and do the right thing at the meeting at 7
pm.

Hello All,

Our good friends at Worcester Pistol and Rifle Club, Turin and Jay,
invited us to run amatch in their club on March 8th.
For those who have not been there yet - it is a nice local club with
several outdoor and one indoor ranges.

If you would like to be a Match Director for this event - please be one.

Dave, myself, and Gene ran the last few MWT matches and are now working
on upcoming events in spring and summer.  We will certainly be happy to
assist as needed.  If you have any questions - Darius and Jon are WPRC
members and could answer or find an answer for you.
