4 Years of This?! Preview

After successfully defending his Inter Species Wrestling title in the States
against Hallowicked, Player Uno returns to Montreal to defend his belt against
perhaps his most difficult opponent to date, the Generic Luchador, El Generico.

Uno put himself through a grueling training regimen to prepare for Hallowicked,
helping him beat the terror luchadore in Connecticut. As a result of this
training regimen, Uno is in the best shape that he has been in nearly two years.

I could tell you that Uno has never beaten El Generico in a singles match and
that would be true, but not the complete truth. Full disclosure would require me
to state that astonishingly this is the first time that two of Canada's best
masked wrestlers have ever faced each other one on one. Uno has the home
advantage - the champion's advantage. El Generico has the advantage of being
perhaps the best damn indy wrestlers in Canada. Either way, win or lose, it's
going to be a show!

4 Years of This?! Detailed Preview

Giant Tiger backed up an armored car to extort Inter Species Wrestling into
paying for him to travel to Connecticut and then after getting a contract with
everything that he wanted, childishly decided that he didn't want to travel that
weekend. Fortunately, Giant Tiger made more reasonable demands to appear at the
ISW 4th Anniversary show.

Or did he?

One of Giant Tiger's conditions to appear was that he got to pick his opponent
and his match at 4 Years of This?! The only problem is that it appears that
Giant Tiger has chosen as his opponent, Inter Species El Presidente, Mike Rotch.
Nothing good can come of this. There is no way that Rotchy should ever be
involved in a wrestling match. Rotch has refused to respond publicly to GT's
challenge, but we know from e-mails and Private Messages that Rotchy sent to
Giant Tiger (that GT immediately copied and put online) that Rotchy has been
trying desperately to talk GT out of this nonsense.

Speaking of talking someone out of (or into) nonsense, somewhere in this country
a tag team wrestler is trying to persuade his partner that it would be a GREAT
idea to accept the Badd Challenge and get in the ring with the Badd Boys, Chad
and Brad Badd. I don't need to know who this tag team is. I am sure that I will
meet them on Sunday and tell them that they are Boys trying to defeat Men.

In a match that might be described as a Boy(pleaser) trying to defeat a Man(of
sorts), Addy Starr - coming off a victory against the wrestling Porn Star Sexxxy
Eddy - will be trying to turn that victory into a winning streak against a
different kind of porn star as Addy tries to beat the She-male called Steve. Can
Addy avoid Steve's deadly sodomy submission?

The other cuddly ISW star (other than Addy Starr) facing deadly peril this
Sunday is crowd favourite El Hijo del Bamboo. Having just recovered from a neck
injury that left him sidelined for several months, Bamboo Jr. will be facing the
deadly Izzy Deadyet. Both ISW competitors are on winning streaks, with the Great
Panda of Sumatra boasting clean pins of M.V.P. and Damian while Izzy Deadyet has
run rough-shod over the competition beating Dan Paysan (and eating his brain to
eliminate Dan from ISW), Zombiefied (in a body-bag match), Viking and Pinkie
Sanchez. Izzy has been blitzing his opponents, overpowering them, while El Hijo
del Bamboo has been capitalizing on his opponents' mistakes. The question is can
the Puroreso Panda capitalize on an Izzy mistake? Or will ISW start its fifth
year of existence with an undead panda on the roster?

The other ISW Zombie in action on Sunday will be facing a long-time enemy of El
Hijo del Bamboo as Zombiefied squares off against Michael Von Payton. Compared
to Izzy Deadyet, Zombiefied is a bona-fide hero, but that does not mean he is
not a monster. Michael Von Payton is one of ISW's strongest and smartest
wrestlers, but can strength and skill help you defeat the living dead,
especially when the undead are as fast as Zombiefied?

Three men on ISW losing streaks will meet during Inter Species Wrestling's
Fourth Anniversary show. Beef has suffered losses to PCP Crazy F'N Manny and
Twiggy; Viking lost to Izzy Deadyet and Player Uno. Sexxxy Eddy's losing streak
only stands at one, but Eddy's ego took a terrible beating when he lost his
match to Addy Starr. These three men know each other very well. Frankly, each of
the three has a less than tenuous grasp on their sanity. Viking brings a
beer-fuelled violent kind of crazy; Eddy supplies a hard liquor and sex streak
of insanity; and Beef brings a sober mean kind of mad. Three crazy men, all
tired of losing, but only one can win. Sounds like fun!

The ISW bringer of fun Twiggy had one title match against Player Uno during
CHIKARA's King of Trios. He lost that match but came heart-breakingly close to
winning the ISW belt. Twiggy would like nothing better than one more shot at
that gold, this time at home, in front of a Montreal audience at Foufounes
Electriques. Only one thing stands in his way. A man-sized brick wall named
Kevin Steen. I know for a fact that Kevin Steen likes Twiggy (as much as Kevin
likes anyone that he isn't married to or related to) I know for a fact that
Kevin Steen respects Twiggy, but when the bell rings for this Number One
Contender's Match, liking and respecting won't matter a damn - because Kevin
Steen wants that ISW belt just as badly as Twiggy and if hurting Twiggy is the
price that Kevin has to pay to get another title shot, that is a sacrifice that

The crazy thing is that Twiggy wouldn't have it any other way.

Another wrestler that has sacrificed for a title shot is Rock Star James Stone.
During the Vans/Warped Tour Show, in a steady rain while fighting Moohammad the
Terrorist Cow for the ISW Other Title, James went up top. Always a risk to go up
top, normally a carefully calculated one, but when the ropes are slick with
water and you are facing a man beast who would almost rather than kill you than
beat you. Well, let's just say that James is lucky that he isn't parking in
handicapped parking spots right now. Only natural for James Syone to demand a
rematch indoors away from the rain. Maybe a little alarming and unnatural how
quickly Moohammad agreed to the rematch.

You could call Moohammad the puppet-master of Inter Species Wrestling. Pulling
James Stone's strings with one hand hoof, holding Flip's leash with another and
yanking Stinky's chains with a third, and if I am honest about it Moohammad used
his free hoof to manipulate me.

As the ISW Commissioner, I wrote an e-mail calling for the match between Flip
and Stinky. Here is that e-mail in full and verbatim.

Fans of Inter Species Wrestling.

Like many of you, I was shocked and saddened to see the wrestler - formerly
known as Flip D. Berger - now known simply as Flip - viciously attack his former
best friend and tag team partner (from the greatly missed tag team Lady and the
Tramp) Stinky the Homeless Guy during /*The Worst That Could Happen*/. For the
second Inter Species Wrestling show in a row, Flip filled Stinky's hat with
Lego, taped the hat to Stinky's head and pile-drove Stinky into a toy-induced
concussion.

This is the only reason that Moohammad the Terrorist Cow is the current and
reigning Inter Species Wrestling Other Champion. I don't need to remind you that
Moohammad (cheated to) beat Flip in a "Winner Eats the Loser" match, but since
Moohammad is a strict vegan, instead of eating Flip, the Terrorist Cow settled
for brainwashing Flip - turning him into a Vegan PETA drone, Moohammad's human
pet.

Flip may have been brainwashed, but he is still reponsible for his actions and
at the next Inter-Species Wrestling show, /*4 Years of This?! */at Foufounes
Electriques on Sunday, August 23rd, I am ordering Flip to face Stinky and
resolve their feud in the only way that it can: In an old fashioned Montreal
Death Match.

But not just any old fashioned Montreal Death Match.

I have received an Inter-Species Wrestling fan mail from one Steve Wilson
suggesting that the Flip vs. Stinky feud can only be resolved by a 50, 000
thumb-tack Death Match. Well Steve, if that is your real name, here at Inter
Species Wrestling we believe that thumb-tacks are for pussies. I have woken up
the day after some Montreal wrestling shows and picked thumbtacks out of the
weirdest places without ever feeling them pierce my skin, but if I step on one
piece of Lego left out by my nephew, I can wake the whole house up cursing fit
to wake the dead.

So, I have decided that at 4 Years of This?! Flip will face Stinky in a Lego
Death Match, but I don't just want a few scattered pieces of Lego. I am calling
on the fans to make and bring Weapons made out of Lego. Instead of hats filled
with Lego, I want a hat made out of Lego. I want Cookie pans made out of Lego. I
want Barbed-Wire bats made out of Lego. I want a Light-Tube Log Cabin made out
of Lego. I want the great fans of Inter Species Wrestling to think of the most
God-Awful Wrestling Weapons that you can dream up and make them out of Lego and
bring them to our Fourth Anniversary show.

The Worst That Could Happen Results

Inter Species Wrestling packed up our gear, kit and caboodle and dragged it all
South to Connecticut bringing everything including our fanatical terrorist cow
Moohammad, only leaving behind Giant Tiger, that grumpy drunk prima donna. And
we had a hell of a time, one of the best shows that I have ever been involved
in. But then, I would say that wouldn't I? (And full disclosure - I have.)

The Worst That Could Happen

Detailed Results

To be honest my expectations for The Worst That Could Happen hung lower than
Giant Tiger's beer gut. On one hand, the fact that Giant Tiger acted like a
prissy prima donna and tried to hold up Inter Species Wrestling and Rotchy for
everything that he could get and then at the last second decided not to go, well
all of that meant that I got to drive up to Connecticut in GT's place. The
down-side was that this meant that I spent six hours as Sexxxy Eddy's arm-rest
while Eddy spent the entire trip bitching about not having his drinking buddy
Giant Tiger with him and drinking enough for the two of them.

Then we got to the venue at 4PM, only to find a dark, low-ceiling barn
surrounded by picnic tables, but with no ring or chairs. Technically the venue
was a "pavillion" but pavillion is just a fancy name for barn. And you know I
have lived the nightmare of an ISW show where the ring only showed up two hours
after the original bell time. But in this case, the ring showed up shortly after
my car did, the ring went up lickety-split, the organizer arranged for us to
have great lighting, Matt Fortune and Mike Rotch combined to pull off some magic
in the presentation and by 7:30PM we were rocking.

Of course, then I was standing backstage watching the pre-show preview
(available to watch at Hybrid Entertainment TV) My instructions were to wait for
the pre-show to finish, then the highlight reel would play and after that I
would come out and start the show. Then the breakers blew and we lost power. We
got the power back quickly, but we couldn't get the highlight reel to play (you
can see it here) or the entrance music to work. So, I had to improvise madly and
entertain the crowd while we were getting things going. As you know, I am the
Worst Ring Announcer in the Multiverse - Improv Comedy is not my strong suit.
Fortunately, I had mingled with the crowd before the show and I knew that
despite a fairly big crowd, there was as far as I could tell exactly one guy
from East Hartford in the crowd. So I made fun of East Hartford until the music
started working again.

(Not that hard to do by the way. For one thing, East Hartford has a store where
you can buy Roast Beef and where they make sandwiches, but you can't buy a Roast
Beef sandwich. I even offered to buy the Roast Beef separately so that they
could add it to the sandwich and they refused. It also has a pizza parlor that
is a gated community, when neither their bank nor their church is protected by a
gate. What kind of a town protects their pizza better than they protect their
God or their money?)

And then right after I had finished introducing Hydra and Jolly Roger, something
unexpected and completely wonderful happened. This car with a custom Rhode
Island license plates that said "Turtle" drove up to the ring playing theme
music and Steve "The Turtle" Weiner jumped out of the Turtle-Mobile, to announce
that he was making his ISW debut and, "What better match to have the Turtle in
than one that already has a Sea Monster and a Pirate?" Faced with this
unassailable logic, I pretty much had to (ab)use my Commissioner powers and make
the match an impromptu three-way.

Look, I am not going to say that Turtle saved the show, but he certainly started
it heading in the right direction. That first match was everything a first match
should be. Quick, funny and the crowd was involved. After Jolly Roger hurt his
foot kicking Turtle in his shell, J-Ro encouraged Hydra to try his luck. When
Hydra hurt his foot as well, the Party Pirate started mocking the Sea Monster
pointing out that it said "Shell" on Turtle's back. At which point someone in
the crowd piped up and yelled, "Hey asshole! Leave Hydra alone! Sea monsters
can't read!" The crowd was animated from the moment that they saw and recognized
Turtle, but from the moment that they started heckling, they became one of the
best crowds that I have seen in a long time.

They were such a good crowd in fact that right after I announced that Hydra had
won the Impromptu Three Way match by forcing Jolly Roger to tap to the Hydralock
(while Turtle was caught helplessly on his back, unable to stand or roll over
because of his shell) I fired myself as ring announcer in favour of local
announcer Steve Maestro so that I could sit with the crowd, do drive-by heckles
on commentary and eat sweet, sweet corn from the barn's bbq counter.

The team of GinGerard gave the Badd Boys one of the stiffest challenges that the
Badd Boys have ever faced... on the mike. But once the talking was over, well
you know how it is, talk like the best, die like the rest. Shayne Hawke ate the
pin after Vin Gerard saw which way the wind was blowing and jumped ship. After
the match, Vin grabbed the mike and to quote ISW fan Nut Bunnies, "Vin was
priceless, first as a pussy from Julliard, and then trying to say he's always...
VIN BAD... and then is immediately turned on for being a faggot." After Vin got
thrown to the outside Shayne ran back out and kissed Vin hard on the lips,
causing Vin to stagger into the crowd to kiss the first girl that he saw to get
the taste of Hawke out of his mouth.

I am very upset about the result of the match between Moohammad and Stinky. Once
again, Stinky was in control only to be attacked by his former best friend and
tag team partner Flip, who filled Stinky's hat with Lego and then gave him a
sick block-assisted pile-driver to give Moohammad the win and successful title
defence. I recognize that Flip was brainwashed by Moohammad into being his human
pet, but I firmly believe that the only way that Flip has any hope of getting
better is if we hold him responsible for his actions. I have made a proposal to
the rest of the ISW management team how this could be done during the ISW Fourth
Anniversary 4 Years of This?! on August 23rd at Foufounes Electriques in
Montreal. Expect an announcement soon.

Twiggy wore cowboy boots for his Bunkhouse Brawl. Beef did not. The wrestling
gods took notice and favoured Twiggy. Every time that Beef tried to use
underhanded tactics to get an advantage it turned against him, whether it was
getting potatoed with a running shot from Twiggy's cowboy boot (that Beef pulled
off Twiggy's foot in the first place) or bringing a cow-bell to the ring to
clobber Twiggy with and eating it for the pin instead. (I was the third guy on
commentary to say that Twiggy had been Saved by the Bell.)

After our intermission, Addy Starr fought a spirited battle against a roaring
drunk Sexxxy Eddy who was less interested in winning the match than he was in
being a grappling sexual octopus. This lackadaisacal attitude ended up costing
Eddy the match, but the real (hidden) star of this match was Steve the Turtle
Weiner whose did a run-in on commentary that will be worth the price of the DVD
by itself.

One of the best parts of the show for me was hearing Izzy Deadyet announced from
the Dark Woods and then having him emerge from the Dark Woods that surrounded
the pavillion barn. This seriously freaked Pinky out and he was in full flight
for most of the early part of the match. Once Izzy caught Pinky, he dragged
Pinky to the back to eat him... at which point the music for Michael Jackson's
Thriller started and Pinky started kicking Izzy's ass with dance-fu. Eventually
Izzy decided that it was better to join the choreography than fight it, until
Pinky turned his back and Izzy jumped him, forced pills down Pinky's throat to
give him a massive overdose, killed him and ate his brains.

After the match, Pinky did a Zombie Sit-Up, shrieked and ran into the woods.

While Zombiefied may be considered the more heroic of ISW's two zombies, he is
still a monster. Fortunately for Jigsaw and El Generico, traditional Lucha Libre
training includes extensive instruction on fighting the undead thanks to the
influence of El Santo. Despite Zombiefied's strength and speed, the two
luchadores were able to overcome him. Jigsaw and El Generico's mutual hatred of
the undead conflicted with their rivalry and lead to a bit of a confusing
finish. After El Generico hit his Brainbuster, it appeared that Jigsaw was
rushing to save Zombiefied, but in fact he was rushing to help El Generico pin
him. After the show, Jigsaw explained to me backstage, "When the undead lose,
everyone wins."

The main event was a fitting end to the evening. Knowing that he would be facing
one of the toughest opponents of his career, Player Uno started a massive
training program right after our Vans Warped show. As a result, Hallowicked
faced a Player Uno in perhaps the best shape of his life. And while the terror
luchadore had his moments in the match, Uno survived his attack and responded
furiously in kind, finishing Hallowicked for good with the Mega Buster.

Inter Species Wrestling's first visit to the United States was a huge success.
We can't wait to be invited back and we hope that everyone out there will pick
up the DVD for The Worst That Could Happen as soon as it comes out.

Inter Species Wrestling returns with 4 Years of This?!  on Sunday, August 23rd,
at the Foufounes Electriques, 87 Ste-Catherine East, Montreal. Doors open at

The Worst That Could Happen

Inter Species Wrestling Invades Connecticut

This Saturday, August 8th, for the first time in its four year history, Inter
Species Wrestling will present a full show in the United States in East Hartford
at the Knights of Columbus Pavilion, 1831 Main Street.

In the main event, the ISW Champion, Player Uno will defend his belt for the
second time in the United States. (His first US title defence was a win against
Twiggy during CHIKARA's King of Trios Day 2.) Uno's opponent this Saturday will
be Hallowicked. Beyond the prestige of winning the ISW title, Hallowicked will
be looking for revenge against Player Uno for having ended his record-setting
run as the CHIKARA tag team champions with Delirious as Incoherence. (Uno and
Stupefied, the Super Smash Brothers, beat Incoherence for the belts in September
2008.)

Detailed Preview

Let me begin by addressing the Elephant Tiger in the room, or rather the Giant
Tiger that might not be in the room. Let me begin by saying that ISW management
has done everything to get Giant Tiger to Connecticut. And I am in an excellent
position to know since the relations between Giant Tiger and ISW Owner Mike
Rotch have become so poisoned that at this point, I am one of the few people
that GT will actually speak to. At various points it seemed like we had an
agreement in place, but every time we were about to announce that Giant Tiger
would be at the show, a new demand would be made. By this point the list of
riders in Giant Tiger's contract would make the Guns and Roses riders seem
downright sane.

It doesn't help that Giant Tiger is not what you would call the most coherent of
people. I completely wasted a day arranging pralines for Giant Tiger's dressing
room only to find out that what he wanted was a trampoline. (Apparently he likes
to watch Meatball bounce.)

The one thing that I can confirm is that if you see me in Connecticut that will
mean that Giant Tiger did not come, because one of his demands was to be
chauffeured to Connecticut in style, with the back seat entirely to himself.
When I pointed out to GT that car space and budgets being at a premium that
would mean that the seat that he would be taking over would be mine, leaving me
behind in Montreal, he told me, "That's a sacrifice that I am prepared to make."

And one that I would be prepared to make as well. As much as I want to be there
to see the show, ISW needs Giant Tiger a lot more than they need their
(relatively) powerless Commissioner and Worst Ring Announcer in the Multiverse.

But whether GT finally says, "Yes that's enough, I will come1" ... or not, ISW
will still give you a great show with some great wrestling, and some other
stuff.

Providing the great wrestling will be El Generico who will face the Fastest
Zombie Alive Undead, Zombified as well as Jigsaw in a Triple Threat Match that
will give you wrestling as good as you are likely to find anywhere in North
America.

Since I accidentally made Stinky the first Other Champion of ISW when Stinky
went dumpster diving and came up with our first ISW title belt binned by Kevin
Steen, I have a keen interest to see what happens when Moohammad the Terrorist
Cow defends his gold against Stinky. I would say "hard-won" gold, but Moohammad
helped Flip steal the belt from Stinky during the Vans Warped outdoor show and
then followed the Terrorist Cow's orders to lay down to make Moohammad the third
and current ISW Other Champion. Stinky wants his belt back and who could blame
him?

One man who would be delighted if Giant Tiger stayed home is GT's longtime feud
victim, Beef Wellington. Admittedly Beef seems to have finally escaped from
Tiger's shadow, but he doesn't like to be reminded. Meanwhile, Beef stumbled out
of one feud directly into one with a man just as popular as Giant Tiger (and
trust me on this much nicer in person - also more hygienic) the ISW Air Guitar
Hero, Twiggy. No one could ever accuse Twiggy of lacking in guts, but he will
need more than courage to survive a Bunkhouse Brawl against the bigger, meaner
and more vicious Beef Wellington in a match without rules to restrain Beef's
temper.

Of course, sometimes rules are overrated. The Badd Boys have never been too
concerned about the rule book. As far as they are concerned, the bigger the rule
book, the heavier an object that they have to beat their opponents with.
Normally, the Badd Boys send out an open challenge. In this case, Buck Hawke and
Vin Gerard have issued an open challenge to the Badd Boys. There is a technical
wrestling term for this. Without getting too too technical, Vin Gerard and Buck
Hawke are CLINICALLY INSANE.

Also somewhat nuts? This Pinkie Sanchez guy wrestler. Leave aside the clothes.
I'm Canadian, I know all about the "It takes a man with balls to wear pink"
argument. What makes me question Pinkie's sanity is that he is actually looking
forward to fighting Izzy Deadyet. Look, the master of burial ground and pound
has been on a tear that would leave serial killers envious. He hasn't just been
beating opponents, he has been DESTROYING them. Pinkie had better have a plan as
elaborate as his wardrobe or he'll become a fashion victim.

Another match where wardrobe (or lack thereof) might become very important is
the rematch between my personal hero, Sexxxy Eddy and the gorgeous Addy Starr.
The last time these two met, Eddy won the match, but lost the war as Addy
stopped Eddy in his leering tracks with a dick-handle slam that put Eddy on the
porn industry's injured reserve list for weeks. If Giant Tiger comes to
Connecticut, he is likely to get Eddy so drunk that anything could happen in
this match and if GT stays home, Eddy will be drinking for two and yes, that
also means that anything could happen. And in ISW, when we say anything, we are
talking about a much broader range of ANYTHING insanity than other wrestling
promotions.

Case in point, ISW is pleased to welcome Jolly Roger back to wrestling. To us it
only makes sense for the wrestling pirate to face off against a wrestling sea
monster like Hydra. But then, we're nutty that way.

If you are anywhere near Connecticut, come see Inter-Species Wrestling. There
will be great wrestling; I personally guarantee that the ring announcer will be
completely wretched (or Giant Tiger); there will be things that you never
thought that you would ever see anywhere - let alone at a wrestling show and
really, when you think about it...

What's The Worst That Could Happen ?

Giant Tiger apparently just announced that he will NOT in fact be coming to
Connecticut. An announcement that he has been making to me privately on a daily
basis since the Vans Warped show... Only to call me back an hour later to tell
me that he WOULD go, if ISW would only do one little itty bitty tiny thing for
him, which yesterday involved getting him one of the organic diamonds that they
are making out of the lock of Michael Jackson's hair that was kept by the
producers of the Pepsi commercial who set the King of Pop's hair on fire. (I
wish I was joking.) The only difference is that this time GT made the
announcement public, so I expect that this time he really means it... until he
changes his mind again. Not that I am frustrated or anything.
