Hi,
I have lots of various windsurfing gear for sale. Everything from
complete setups, sails, to fins. Cheap prices. I have several great
beginner boards, and a few more high performance. The prices are
cheap, I'm only back for the weekend, don't miss out.
I'll be in Gimli over the weekend where the gear is located, come get it
there, or I can bring it back for you.
Call me for details 604-329-7062(cell), 204-642-4931(at the cottage).
Beginner boards might come with free intro-lessons.
Lawrence "Wind Dude" Stewart
i got a couple you can have, will be in town between the 15th and 17th.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I am very interested in seeing both sails and the mast.
I will be at the cabin for the next week or so, but maybe we can connect when I get back.
Let me know how much you want for the items you listed.
Cheers!

Thanks for the info, Brad.
This leads me to three questions:
1. Does anyone in the group have a Chinook system mast foot lying around?
2. I could also use a fin (older style, fits into a slot and has a flat, square
kind of nut to hold it in place in the board. It's for an old (25 yrs. old?)
HiFly board.
3. I also need a replacement for a 12 foot fibreglass mast that broke in the
middle or does anyone have a simple way of repairing it).
I am willing to pay a reasonable price for these items.

I used to have windtracker messages forwarded to this group too. But, since the
group is not very active the messages overtook the group and looked more like
spam. Also, the largest group of users of windtracker are kiters and our
messages did not represent the winds required for windsurfing. Windsurfers still
got skunked. So, I no longer forward them here.

I know that some of the kiters and windsurfers have this messaging system where by one can receive text messages about wind conditions. These messages are sent by members who actually have gone sailing and can confirm wind conditions at the site.
I have a blackberry (some people call it crackberry, there is a reason for that....) phone I can try to use for this.
Well, the good news is it's not an Obrien proprietory thing. Looks like a Windsure. They are no longer manufacturing and only into teaching watersports now. They were a fairly common cheaper alternative to a Chinook system. Someone here may have parts laying around still. The person that gave you the board in the first place??
Even better news is that it does look like the board will accept Chinook gear instead. Which is very common and more likely to find used here or anywhere.

I'm looking for old cavity style box (i.e. tuttle, powerbox, etc.) windsurfing
fins. The smaller in length and area with a thin foil the better. Anyone have
any kicking around?

I hope that everyone has been having as good as summer as one can have considering the weather lately. I am also glad to see this board being used again.
I am looking for advice about storm/wave sails. I have an IMCO for light winds and a Fanatic shark 130 for bigger air currently. I am using a 7.3 cambered for light wind and a 6.0 cambered sail for heavier days. The mast I have is 490cm 28cc two piece carbon fibre and I have a very adjustable boom with it.
I am wanting to get a sail or two that I can use in super gusty conditions and also use as a trainer sail to get my wife introduced to the sport. I know that I will require a short mast as well to accomodate smaller sails.
Does anyone out there have anything like this lying around that they don't need anymore want or can suggest any models/sizes or equipment that they recommend?
Thanks in advance.

Aloha Manitoba windsurfers,
This may seem a little off topic, but I'm looking for water sports friends to come visit me at a new bed and breakfast I'm building at one of the best launches in Maui. This is important because if you don't have local connections in Maui, there are now very few locations available.
I'm almost done with building a 8500 sq foot house on the north shore of Maui where I'll be applying for a B&B permit. There's excellent kiting, windsurfing, SUP'ing, surfing, etc. right behind the property at sandy beach. While the property is not oceanfront, it's nearly as good from an access perspective. There's room on the property to keep your gear rigged, maybe 160 feet from the water (less than the distance at many parking lots!). Kite beach is a short drive away and you can even launch kites right behind the property as
well. The house sits on a 2 acre lot surrounded by many lush tropical trees. There's an abundance of tropical fruits growing there too.
To get the word out, I'll have super prices for the for the first few months that we are open, starting this October. Plus, I've got plenty of gear storage space and will offer FREE gear storage until your next reserved visit. I.e., come and stay, and reserve another stay and keep your gear safe and secure. Everything will be first class, like storage for rigged sails, LCD and Plasma home theater systems, soundproof walls and floors, fine king size beds, nice tile, granite, maple, etc. The units are "fully equipped." We also have drop-off service to Maliko Gulch for SUP downwinders back to the property. We could also drop you off to do a downwinder from Hookipa. The location is ideal for large groups. We've even got toys for toddlers and possibly child care too.
I'm looking to build a regular clientele
of water sports lovers to share this gorgeous spot with me.
Myself? After sailing the northeast, I used to live a few blocks from Crissy Field in SF from 1994 to 2005, and was a regular sailor at Crissy, Rio, Coyote, and 3rd. I even used to do live on-site wind reports for the original Call of the Wind back in the 90's. I used to be very active in course racing in SF (Cal Cup and Friday Night Series). I used to kite at 3rd and Crissy (having once got dragged under the 3rd bridge with a kite!).
I first came to Maui in 1995 and fell in love with the place the first time I sailed without a wetsuit. Maui's a bit like San Francisco, in that you never stop discovering new things to do, and the beauty is stupendous. I bought 2 acres next to the beach in 2000, and I've been working on my project ever since.
Please send me an e-mail at maui.windsurf at gmail.com with a bit about yourself (preferably
an e-mail), and I'll send you pictures, maps, rates, etc. If you associate with a group of any sailors at any location or any particular shops in your area, please let me know. I'm trying not to rent to any complete strangers, but instead friends of friends of friends. If you've taken camps with ABK or Jason Voss or Wyatt Miller or traveled with Solo Sports, those are all friends of mine. If you know the Ultra Nectar crew, the Naish Team, windsurf racers, Cabrinha, Hot Sails, Maui Sails, etc....Just tell me a bit about yourself and I'll send you some information.
Aloha.
p.s. While summer is the most popular time of year to windsurf Maui, the fall, winter, and spring are much better because there's real waves! And if there's not enough wind for sailing, there's so many other things to do on Maui.

Hello,
Someone was so kind as to give me a 9 ft. O'Brien Pro Am surfboard. However, I
don't have a mast foot that fits into the socket. On the board there's a four
inch disk on top of a five inch disk in a track that functions as a socket with
1 large pin that locks the foot in from the side. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks.

Hello,
I live in Florida and windsurf Biscayne Bay and the Keys in South Florida
however, my family and I travel to Winnipeg and the Kenora area every summer. I
am looking for the whole set up. Board, sail, and the likes.
Anyone selling?
Paula
Bill and I went to Willow to do some sailing in the lagoon on the 16th, but had
to retreat as the water was over running the island. When I drove in the road
through the reeds leading into the Island was starting to get wet, and the
causeway was a mess with debris and basketball size rocks being thrown over the
road by the waves.
We could see the waves from the lagoon crashing into the waves from the lake
over top of the sand bar on the south side of the lagoon. The normal launch for
south winds was under about a foot of water.
By the time we drove out 15 minutes later the water was covering the road in,
and a ravine was starting to form across the causeway.
I stopped at Winnipeg Beach on the way home, and the road to the Marina launch
was under water. With waves breaking over top of the rocks that protect the
marina.
The water level in the Gimli marina was only a foot lower then the pier, and the
waves were breaking over the top of the pier wall.
It wasn't that windy, but because the water level is so high any wave action is
having disastrous consequences for damage to the water front.
Reports on the kiter forum indicate that Patricia beach was once again under
water, and the road leading in was also under water.
My favorite sailing spot may not last the summer at this rate.
I posted some pictures from yesterday in the photo album, sorry for the low res,
only had my blackberry to take pictures with.
I have an extra extension and lots of protectors. 232-5208 - Don
