There has been some questions regarding the additions to our point
system for 2007. I will try to clearify.
#1. The Points shall remain as is for the first three shows.
#2. At the fourth show at the Fair, points will be awarded to the
first six "regular" or "point accumulating" exhibitors from our
regular season. We realize that the Class AA exhibitors are using
the MWVHSC show to school for the Class AA show and that they
often "knock" some of our regulars out of the points for Year End
Awards. No longer will this happen. At this show only, the Judge
will mark the cards through 10 or 12 places or to whatever number of
entries are in the class below that number. Ribbons will be awarded
to first through sixth place as done normally. Points, however, will
be awarded only to our regular exhibitors. In other words, if a
Class AA exhibitor places first and a regular places second; the
points will start with the second place regular exhibitor. It is
very possible that some of our regular exhibitors might not receive a
ribbon, but because the Judge has marked his card beyond sixth, we
will know where they would of placed in the class and those
exhibitors shall still receive the points that they would of gotten
had the Class AA exhibitors been absent. This will only be done at
the circuit show held at the Fair.
Points are confusing at best and it will be no small task to keep
them accurate, but we feel that our exhibitors deserve the
consideration. That being said, now it is up to our exhibitors to
be sure they are entered correctly, notify us of additions or
scratches and take responsibility for their end. The new rules and
updates are or will be on the website.
Got questions? Ask, that's what I'm here for.

Hey everyone! Don't forget the Horse show clinic on July 15th, 10 AM
at the Fairgrounds! Let me know if you will be attending so that I
can plan materials and time frames accordingly.
Post entries for the July 16th show need to be postmarked by July 8th
to avoid Post Entry fees. Also, entries into the August and September
shows will only be honored if mailed with the July show entries. No
August or September entries will be accepted at the show on July 16th.
It's a paperwork issue. Everyone has the opportunity to print out the
forms and get them back at any time prior to post entry dates for each
show. This was one of the provisions that having the on-line web site
material provided for.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe 4th of July!

The June 11th MWVHSC Horse Show is now history. Several exhibitors
could not make it in due to flooding at home and on roads leading to
Lancaster; however, many showed up on show morning and we saw some
great competition.
The weather was misty and wet, but no downpours as evidenced on
Saturday. Hopefully, the rainy weather is over and the rest of the
season is warm and dry.
The winners of the classes are listed under June Winners on the website.
We are thinking of holding a small, informal clinic in the near future
for our exhibitors. The clinic would include sections on show entry,
ring ediquette, procedure, proper tack for each class; halter vs.
showmanship; equitation vs. pleasure vs. performance; tips and hints
for trail, grooming for show and other related subjects.
The clinic would be free to our exhibitors. We do need input on when
to hold a clinic: Saturday before a show or Sunday on another weekend.
We would be holding it at the fairgrounds. Drop a line to me regarding
the holding of a clinc.
I was happy to see everyone last week and hope to see everyone at the
next show on July 16th. Remember your Post Entry dates! Print out
your entry forms from the website and send them in by the Post Entry
date.
Thanks, Sherrel
you are doing a great job in making these shows the best. keep up the good work. hope every one realizes the work you have done in putting together the web site and all that it entails and making these shows interesting
The American Morgan Horse Assn. has donated a High Point Morgan Plaque
and Neck Ribbon for each of our four shows.
The AMHA recognizes the many Morgan Horses out there who bring
enjoyment to their riders and owners through competition at open shows
such as ours. They have graciously offered to donate these awards.
Big, big Thank Yous go out to the American Morgan Horse Assn.
We now have the information from the American Morgan Horse Assn.
regarding their open competiton program. I will be adding the info to
the web site towards the end of this week. Everything will be
available for download and hopefully, we'll have the forms, etc. at the
shows. There is another surprise in store for Morgan owners who
register their Morgans in the Open Comp. program, but we're not telling
right now..
Pass the word.
We have been approved from the Arabian Horse Assn. for inclusion into
their Open Competition Program, for purebred horses who compete at our
open shows.
Go to:
www.arabianhorses.org/activities/incentiveprograms/oeip.asp
for more information.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to compete for points that
will become a permanent part of your horse's records. Riders may also
enroll even if you don't own the Arabian you are showing.
You will be competing anyway, and should take advantage of this program.
After corresponding with the good folks from the Arabian Horse Assn, we
have applied and been approved for their open competition program.
Their program is similar to the Paint Horse Assoc. PAC program, in that
purebred Arabian horses who compete at our open shows, may accumulate
points. These points have their own awards and recognition system and
the points become permanently contained in the horse's records.
Arabian also allows for riders who are not the owner to gain points.
The website will explain everything to you.
It is
www.arabianhorses.org/activities/incentiveprograms/oeip.asp
If you are a member of the Arabian Horse Assn., it would be a good
choice to enroll your horse/rider. You are competing anyway; you might
as well take advantage of the program and get those valued points on
your horse's records.
All four of our circuit shows have been approved by the American Paint
Horse Association for inclusion into their Paint Alternative
Competition program (PAC).
If you own a Paint horse and are interested in accumulating points that
will become a part of that horse's permanent Paint Records, go to the
appropriate page on the MWVHSC website. You do not need to be a member
to enroll and accumulate points, but you do need to join in order to be
eligible for any awards that the APHC awards to PAC winners.
I am also in the process of inquiring if other breed organizations have
an equivalent program for their breed of horse. I believe that
Appaloosa used to have it and perhaps more of the others do too. If
this is the case, I will be posting the information on the website.
Show season is getting closer. You can send in entries at any time.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in June.
We've sent in for approval from the American Paint Horse Association to
become a member PAC event.
This will mean that our shows will be included in their open competiton
program. Owners can show at the shows, record their placings and send
them in to APHC for awards/recognition.
If any Paint owners are interested in this program, please go to the
American Paint Horse link and search for the PAC program for more
information.
We will notify you via post when we receive approval (or lack thereof).
Hey Jackie, thanks for the support. I do see ole Tuckerman when I go through Twin. He doesn't look his age at all. I lost Andy last year at 34. He was in as good a shape as ever, he just got old and wanted to move on.
We are hoping the circuit will support itself again. There weren't a lot of exhibitors coming up for quite a while, but they seem to be back in more numbers. We'll soon see.
Please feel free to keep up on the circuit through the website. I'd love to see you at one of the shows too. June 11, July 16, Aug. 13 and Sept 1st. There are always kid safe horses for leadline too, if you get the urge to bring the kids. lol
Thanks again and keep in touch. Sherrel

Hi All, I have been out of the horsie thing for many years, but am excited to see that the MWVHSC is coming back strongly. I still have my grade morgan, Tuckerman. If you can believe it, he will be 27 this year!!!! He is having a great time hanging in the backyard and occasionally letting my two girls get a ride. He has decided in his old age that he does not need to teach beginners any more, but if you know what you are doing he is still a lot of fun. Best of luck in the upcoming show season. Extend my congrats to Queen Sara. Is she wearing her crown well! What
did she win (besides braggin' rights)?
Now you need to put one of Surprise, Polgara or Markka. At least for
Princess status'.
Everyone needs to know (and read)the rules and specs so I've elected to leave it all on the web site where they can navigate to the various pages if they have any questions about the same.
