MVLA:
Thanks to those that helped me with sleuthing/tracing to discover the
location of the key. It should be in my possession by tonight.
The flags will be picked up on Monday and returned to the storage room.
Once I have the key back, I will reopen Graham.

===============================================
No one has taken responsibility for having left three checkered flags
with sand-filled bases and one red flag with spiked base out on the grass
field, AND not having returned the "Graham-AWT" key. The
checkered flags belong to the AWT field and the spiked flag belongs to
the grass field.
The flags were locked in the Graham administrative office and since not
picked up, will remain there through the holiday weekend. Moreover,
I am shutting down the Graham complex from further use on
weekends until that key is found or replaced by the team that
lost it. I cannot leave the last key I have
("Graham-grass") out in my porch box with that key being the
last key issued to MVLA for the Graham Storage room.
Here is the list of teams that had Graham reservations in reverse
chronological order past two weekends.
Sat 11/21 1:00pm United scrimmage Graham AWT (United reports they did not
use flags or retrieve the key).
Sat 11/21 Tornado Blue 10am and Tornado Black 11am league games on grass
NEED REPORT NOW Sat 11/14 Tornado Blu 10am league game and PyGrn 11am NCSC
game NEED REPORT NOW.
All - We received a call from the Graham AD today. The last user of the Graham all weather turf left the corner flags on the field and we need to pickup from the AD office. Please reply back to me if your team left the flags out and will be going to pick them up and return to Graham storage. The AD requested this happen today.

Hi Kim, Your question is a good one so I am cc'g the Club.
MVLA: read Kim's question below and my answer herein:
In newspapers "bulletin board" sections or school district
newsletters (Like LASD's Frequent Flyer) where there is a
"print-text-only" or word-count/space limitation, you have to
adjust to their requirements and conventions so, no, logos and
disclaimers are not typically required. The rationale for this is
not only space, but more importantly because it is conventional that
other teams, organizations, groups are also posting similar announcements
and the reader has "fair access" to all comers. In other
words, there is no advantage of one posting over another.
But when your announcement is stand alone, like a handout, a larger paid
ad, a web posting, an email, a letter, a poster/banner, etc., where the
client sees your announcement as a relatively unique and standout notice,
then you are much better off identifying yourself with branded markings
(logos, standard colors, font-styles) and protecting yourself with
disclaimers.
Hope this clarifies. Contact me anymore questions.

Hi JEanine,

Please let me know.

MVLA teams posting tryouts announcements and handing out tryouts
flyers:
Tryouts season is always fun, exciting, and a little tense. As your
teams create, post, and distribute Tryouts Announcements, it is important
that you properly structure your marketing items. Here are some
guidelines and requirements:
1) make sure every flyer includes the "Circles" MVLA
logo. I have attached a jpeg file. You can size it down or up, but
keep the aspect ratios and colors exactly the same. You can apply
this in gray-scale or simply black. But if in color, do not change colors
in the attached file. At some point, MVLA will be creating a better
variety of approved and color-specific logos. Stay tuned for that
in the future, but for now, used the attached.
2) Make sure you ALWAYS precede your team nickname with
"MVLA" and follow it with the age/gender suffix For
example, my team is not the Raptors, we are the MVLA Raptors u17Boys. You
can always make your name MORE specific, but never less specific.
(FYI, my teams typically spell it all out: MVLA Raptors 92 Gold u17Boys,
MVLA Raptors 92 Bronze u17Boys.)
3) All postings/flyers must include a DISCLAIMER that will protect
your team from accusations of poaching in CYSA, and improper solicitation
in general. If your teams need more education about this point,
please let me know and I would be happy to send them a standard
"primer" on the subject. Just add it in small print at
the bottom of the flyer. Always add this line to flyers/emailers/
posters/postings :
DISCLAIMER: This notice is an announcement of
future tryouts; it is not a solicitation for you to change teams or
clubs this season. If you have no interest in joining MVLA Soccer
Club, please disregard this notice.

==========================
I need all managers and coaches except Chris Fitzpatrick to return to me
ASAP all previously issued Crittenden lights room keys. I am down
to NO keys in hand except my master key. Return instructions are
below. I have the following people in my log as holding keys but
these keys may have been handed off to others, so all MVLAers take
note.
Please inspect your key chains and desk drawers, you may not even know
you have a key. The keys for the Critt lights rooms are
manufactured by Best(TM) and have a "Duplication Prohibited"
notice on them.
I MUST have these keys back. The City of MV allows strict quotas on
issued keys and, at this point, they refuse to issue more without a large
loss bond (their assumption is that if too many people have keys, the
risk of vandalism and unauthorized use rises). In any event, we
have to pay a loss fee for each new key issued. The current
assignees may have no way to turn on lights.
MVLA Critt Key Log as of 11/10/09: Schulz, Carlos #42 (has left country, so presumed lost unless
someone can contact him)
Ireland, Ross #43
Kania, Wayne #44
Montoya, Albertin #45
Montoya, Albertin #46
Valadez, Jeanine #58 (I have)
Fitzpatrick, Chris #59
Return Instructions: --put your key in a sealed envelope and deposit it in the file
box on my porch in the Drop Off folder. I live at 15 San Juan Ct, Los
Altos, Ca 94022. Please do this today or ASAP.
OR
--bring the your enveloped key to Critt THIS WEEK and give it to either
Chris Fitzpatrick or me at any of these slots:
a) Tues 6:30-8:00
b) Wed 6:30-8:00
c) Thurs 5:00-6:30
