The city of MV is studying 3 sites for possible development of soccer/baseball
fields. At most, one site will be chosen.

Below is information about a meeting about the next phase of the project. Of the
sites under consideration, only one could accommodate more than one soccer field
(the conference center/kite lot site at Shoreline Park).

I assume that if members of the public attend the meeting it will indicate that
there is wide support for developing soccer fields.

On Wednesday, January 12, 2005 staff will be presenting to the Parks and
Recreation Commission a scope and timeline for further pursuit of the
potential for development of athletic fields at Whisman School/Park,
Shoreline at Mountain View Six Acre Site and Shoreline at Mountain View
Conference Center Site/Kite Lot. The meeting is open to the public and will
take place at the Mountain View Public Library , 585 Franklin Street, at
7:00 p.m. A copy of the staff report and a meeting agenda will be available
on the City's website (www.ci.mtnview.ca.us) beginning Friday, January 7,
2005 after 5:00 p.m. If you have any questions, please call the Recreation
