Now that we're in the throes of registration, I've noticed a couple of things I want to clear up.

1.  When you submit your online registration, you will see a spring fee amount below the signature line.  Disregard this amount!!!  This is only the amount that the district charges the league for your spring team.  Your spring fees to MVLA are as per my previous email:

$500 to MVLASC
$110 to FYSL
Additional $20 for every new player (that's new this playing year…last playing season doesn't count)

2.  For any team that is participating in league play only, the spring roster and player list is sufficient.  If you want to take any of your new players or guest players to non-league play such as State Cup and tournaments, you must do additional paperwork.  New players must be accompanied by a Player Add form and transfers have to be routed through the player's previous coach and league registrar and the new team and league registrar.  In addition, the spring player passes are not sufficient for tournament play.  We must issue official player passes.  Please let me know if any of you are in this situation.

3.  If you are a new team and/or have new adults involved with the team, the adults must fill out an adult registration form and submit a spring player pass form with a picture.  Just use the District II spring player pass form.  However, if you will be accompanying the team for tournaments or State Cup, you will need an official player pass, as per #2 above.  In this case let me know and we can make sure to issue you one.  For more than 2 adults, an adult add form is needed.

4.  Finally, if you are using players from several different teams and you don't have a goldenrod copy, please include a copy of their player pass if at all possible.  That's the most desirable verification.  Otherwise, their player number, team name, old league name and age group, whatever can help us locate and verify the player should be included.

5.  For spring play we are not going to be checking coaching licenses.  However, I want to put you on alert now that come next season, we are instructed to be very strict about requiring licenses for comp coaches as per the rules on the District II web site.  If you haven't already begun taking your classes, don't waste any time!  Contact your friendly coaching coordinator (that would be Sergio) and tell him to schedule those classes!  He just sent an email with an update on this.

OK, now that things are more confusing than ever I want to thank those teams who have brought me such clean packages so early!  Thank you for your patience with this tedious stuff. Geez, and I never really thought of myself as a rules kind of person!

I guess this wouldn't be a good time to remind you that fall registration is just around the corner ;-)
