We have another proposed amendment for field coordinator, submitted
by Jeanine Valadez. The proposed amendment is attached below and
replaces By-Laws Section 2.02.01, paragraph H Field Coordinator.
Scope: Clarify existing role. Make provision delegation of tasks at
FC's discretion.
2.02.01 H: The Field Coordinator (FC) shall be responsible for a
variety of tasks both strategic and tactical relating to garnering
and managing field and facility capacity for the Club. At his/her
discretion, the FC may create committees and/or delegate tasks to
other non-Board individuals.
The scope of this job includes the following responsibilities:
1) accept field poaching reports, verify, and administer fines and
sanctions
2) inspect fields at least bi-weekly (most often during wet weather)
3) forecast field needs, capacity plans, and budget needs to Board,
4) maintain inventory of on-field equipment
(goals/rebounders/chains/locks, flags, lockboxes, etc.); submit on-
field equipment plans and needs to Equipment Coordinator
5) field beautification (trimming, weeding, filling, etc.)
6) liaison to local resident organizations and other user groups
7) represent MVLA in any discussion of future field developments
8) establish field lining requirements, supplies, and lining
assignments
9) field-closure decisions resulting from adverse weather, community
conflicts, or condition of field (rest periods)
10) insurance application and submittal
11) maintenance of the MVLA Field Manual
12) point contact to all field owners, representing MVLA at owner
meetings
13) attain field and facility capacity; submit, negotiate, and
finalize permits with facility owners and fellow facility users;
relay required invoices to Club Treasurer.
14) allocate and assign fields for practices, tryouts, clinics,
camps, and games. Generate any required invoices to teams and submit
to Club Treasurer. At his/her discretion, the FC may allocate blocks
of field space to other Board or non-Board members for assignment
such as games during League Seasons, or allocation of a particular
field, or during multi-team activities such as kickarounds,
jamborees, tryouts, etc.
