From CYSA HQ:

All teams scheduled to play Association Cup games at Cherry Island on
January 12th and 13th should be advised that we were informed today
that the Cherry Island Soccer Complex has been closed due to storm
related damage. The District VI staff has been working non-stop to
find alternate field locations so that the games can be played. Our
primary goal is to secure fields so that our teams will be able to
complete their preliminary rounds of play this weekend. Our secondary
goal is to keep the games in District VI so that the referee and
staff coverage can be maintained.



The majority of the games will be relocated to the Riverfront Park
Complex in Marysville. The use of four additional fields is
currently being negotiated but we will not have confirmation of these
fields until tomorrow morning. Our first location option for these
four fields is Elk Grove. The second option being considered is
Vacaville. Until one of these locations is confirmed, we will
identify them in the revised schedule as District VI Area 1, District
VI Area 2, District VI Area 3 and District VI Area 4.



The Brackets will be relocated as follows with your game times
remaining the same as previously scheduled:

While we understand that teams will have to make some changes in
their driving plans and possibly their hotel accommodations, we hope
you can understand the logistics of trying to secure fields and
notify teams of the changes on such short notice. With State Cup
being scheduled to kick off next weekend, we have very little
flexibility and very few options remaining to get the Association Cup
games completed.



Credentials check in will remain at the Holiday Inn on Date Avenue at
Interstate 80 and Madison Avenue.



A map to Riverfront Park and an updated schedule is posted and is
attached. Once the field locations for the four additional fields
are confirmed, we will post and distribute those field maps as well.



We thank you for your support and understanding of the situation and
our efforts to resolve the problems created by the closure of the
Complex.
