We appreciate the publicity and exposure and being categorized as the underdogs!
Good luck to all MVLA teams this weekend.

Subject: [MVLACoaches] MVLA:Association Cup status after PrelimsCORRECT TYPO
MVLA: A small but significant typo: I typed Rapids twice in the Next Games section below, when I meant to type that the X-Treme played top flight Delgado and Rapids played second flight. Regards, Jeanine

MVLA:
FYI, Youngers u11-u14 Association Cup results and schedules can be found at http://www.eyouthsportsusa.com/cgi-win/esked2.exe?lB101231 <http://www.eyouthsportsusa.com/cgi-win/esked2.exe?lB101231> .
This last weekend, a record number of MVLA teams (6) participated in the Preliminary Rounds at sites around Northern California.
Please join me in congratulating all participants with special cheers to the four MVLA teams who pass to the next round:
passed through:
u11B Xtreme (1st of 3 in group in field of 20 teams)
u14G Crush (1st of 4 in group in field of 50 teams)
u14B Raptors 92 Bronze (1st of 4 in group in field of 70 teams)
u11B Rapids (finished 2nd of 3 in group in field of 20 teams and got through as a wildcard)
eliminated:
u11G Hurricanes (3rd of 4 in group in field of 26 teams)
u12G Fury (3rd of 4 in group in field of 70 teams)
Next Games (in chronological order):
The u14 Boys Raptors 92 Bronze will compete in the Round of 32 Sat 1/13 9:00am at Morgan Hill Field 11. This is the debut year for the Bronze Raptors. As a second flight Delgado team, they upset two very skilled teams from South Valley and Marin and crushed a weaker Lamorinda team to take their Group in first round. Luck of the draw, they not only have the unfortunate challenge that they have to play an additional Round of 32 game to move on, but this Saturday they face a team out of the Delta Soccer Club that is favored to win the entire Cup.
The u14 Girls Crush 92 will compete will compete in the Sweet 16 Sat 1/13 at 11:00am at Morgan Hill Field 12. Our 7-2-1 Crush who finished 2nd place in the top flight of Delgado will be favored against a mid-pack 3-2-5 Redwood League team.
The u11 Boys X-Treme and Rapids will compete against each other in Quarterfinals on Sunday 1/14 at 1:00pm at Morgan Hill Field 6. The Rapids X-Treme will be favored as they finished 6-4-0 in the top flight of Delgado while the Rapids finished 6-4-0 in the second flight. But when it comes down to club rivalries and familiarities, one can never predict outcomes for games like these. This should be a doozy!
Good luck to all!
Jeanine
