What's up dude?

I am trying to carve some time to play - eldest child has a b-day party in the early pm so I thought I'd come play today.  Are you playing summer league? Charlie is putting together a team which may be an option.  I'd also like to play Cooler - played when she turned legal so I might as well drink with her on her 21st.

I can't play tomorrow, but I hope to in the near future.  We normally played at Veterans Park - just opposite where Brady St. terminates.  I'd vote no for shutting the site down.  As far as I know it's the only site for organizing pick-up ultimate in Milwaukee.

Saturday pickup has not happened since early summer.  If you can get enough people to play at least hot box, I can show up most Saturdays but if turnout is below 6 or 7 I won't be making it.  You might start a poll from the MUPU site.  Polls worked better than emails at gauging turnout in the past.  Look at the old polls as a drafting template.

Alas, it's true :).  We do like everyone to play, and we increase (or decrease) the field size to suit.  We play regardless of the weather or anything else (except, maybe we'll take the day off on the weekend of the Cooler Classic).
 
The web page (http://ridisculous.wordpress.com ) has maps, trash talk, etc. with the latest on dates, times, locations, etc.  It should be revised at upa.org on their pickup page soon (if it isn't updated already).

I say we, but I am not a regular attender.

 

Tonight's play is at Carroll College in Waukesha at their football stadium.

There is almost always at least 10-20 showing up to toss.

One thing a bit different about this group is that if they have more than 14, they will play everybody. i.e. 8-on-8 or 9-on-9.

I'll be there tomorrow. 

 

Graham, we had fours with a sub last week even though you, a cornerstone, couldn't make it.

 

It's been suggested we change the 'official' start time to 12:30.  Cars have been seen driving up at noon and turning around because few people are there so punctually.

 

We could say that warm-ups, tossing start at noon, with play actually starting at 12:30ish.  What does everybody think?
