Hey all,
Fun bunch of games yesterday at the Lakefront, was good to air out the
lungs! Looking forward to the next time this Saturday...btw, can
someone send along the information for the league? I wanted to sign up..

Great! Game on at 1:00!

If it's not raining too hard it looks like we are on at 1:00. I will be slightly late coming from a class. I will try to make a rain call and cancel if need be by 11:30-12:00, before my class. I know sometimes people drive in from distant suburbs so I don't want them to waste their time if we aren't going to end up playing. Also, if a Yes to changes to a No bringing the total below the minimum before noon (due to weather or otherwise, then it is off.

It's just an easy couple of clicks and we already have proof of the confusion created when people confirm by email but don't vote. Marta had confirmed to 5; now Usman didn't realize that, and he confirmed to 5 when really he is 6.

Hey if you could revisit the MUPU site and have them email your password to you or something so you could vote would be best. It's only happening if we have 6 yes votes or more. Great suggestions and feedback! Let's look for a later Saturday time in general then. I happen to have Tae Kwon Do currently at 12:00 to 1:00 so I am going to post a poll for 1:00 and see what happens with votes. It' s my last TKD class so future weeks I can make noon or whatever time on Saturday, unless I have to work. (Unfortunately I have to work lots of Saturdays in April and May.)

Anybody feel free to post a MUPU poll at any time for Ultimate or events of interest to Ultimate Players. I am not acting as any authority when I post a poll, just as a member. Kodi actually set up the site and is the moderator of MUPU.

On the suggetion of Dan who pointed out that 10:00 am might be to early, maybe
noon could work out better. The people who get up early enough could get a few
personal things done before pull time, while others can sleep in. I wouldn't
want to make it much later than noon, because I might get too involved chores
started in the morning.

Definetly keep it on Saturdays, but how about in the afternoon instead of the morning. As a 20-something male, I don't feel particularly earnest to wake up early on a Saturday morning and some people are still working off their hangovers at 10am. Just a couple thoughts, looking forward to playing in MKE this summer.

As one who is very involved in a church on Sundays I would vote to keep the games on Saturday and see if it can grow now that the weather is warming up.

My only other suggestion is to talk it up and bring friends... my experience with similar pick-up games in other parts of the country tells me that word-of-mouth and relataional connections between people are always the most reliable way of getting people there.

I look forward to getting to know you all as I get to play ultimate with you.

Folks,

We have, for tomorrow at 10:00, five committed souls (double entendre)
and 4 maybe's.  If we get our 6 definites, we should play.  It's been a
long Ultimate winter to our souls.

But experience has taught that anything less than 6 is a big
disappointment of just playing catch and no Ultimate action.  With six
we can set up hotbox and play.

So I am going to extend this poll until tomorrow morning at 9:00.  If
we are up to six committed by then, it's game on!  Hey, I just bought
flourescent cones at Wal Mart so I'm stoked to use 'em!

If one of the five can bring a friend, just email the MUPU group from
the website and we are good to go that way.

We have 4 firm yesses to play tomorrow at 10:00ish - ain't enough
though.  We need 6.  Those who haven't responded to the poll yet,
please do so by 11 pm so we can see if we can make it to 6 firm
affirmatives.

All we need is one more yes and plus someone bring a friend!

Or if one of the four sends an email that they are bringing 2 friends
we are good to go.

How can you play Ultimate with a minmum of just 6 people you ask?  In
fact, it is easy and a great, fun, workout with lots of action. You
play on half a field, put a small, square end zone in the middle and
play 3 on 3 (a.k.a. "Hotbox").  Kinda like half court basketball.  This
is good, as running full field busts is a bit much to ask anyway after
a winter's butt sitting.

The deadline for signing up for the UPA Level 1 Cocahes' Clinic in Milwaukee is this Monday. Sign-up now so you can enjoy your hang-over on Monday from the Super Bowl!!
