Hi Fellow Runners,

Congratulations to many of you who have just completed a Fall half-marathon or who have been training for the Rockville 5K/10K. 

 

Since some of you should be recovering while others of you could be tapering, I could really use some help with the upcoming DARCARS Young Run on this Sunday, October 19th.  I am sure you are balking at the fact this is a Young Run.  But honestly, this is a really big race with 3,000 children.  Plus most of them have their parents in tow since it is for children age 12 and under. 

 

We have had a record number of registrations, we are at 2,949 and who knows how many registrations are waiting in the Club mail box.  So I desperately need some more volunteers on race morning to help accommodate all the kids. 

 

Children can choose to run the 1-mile, the 1/2–mile or the Ľ-mile.  Yes, we even have finishers that are age 2 or under.  Quite adorable to watch.  When did you run your first race? Come help make this a memorable day for many children who will hopefully enjoy many more fun years of running.
