Tom Hepperle here. Yes, there will be TA's that will have indoor sleeping areas this year. Joe and I are working on a table that will show which TA's will have areas to sleep, showers, food (and what kind of food) and any other notable accommodations. It will be posted on the website prior to the race (please give me some time to pull this together, as some of this is "developing"). We are working hard to make this the best relay yet. We have more volunteer support than ever before, and we would be extremely appreciative of teams that patronize the fabulous volunteer groups that are stepping up to help us.
Joel, while we will have a number of outstanding TA's in the 2008 MC200, two in particular are strategically notable: TA18 - Martin Luther High School (new in the relay this year), and TA 24 - St. Andrew's Lutheran Church (arguably the most awesome TA on the course). Both are VTA's, and will operate during the night. Both will have indoor sleeping accomodations. TA18 will have showers, and food for sale. TA24 is lengendary for both its bill of fare and hospitality. (It will be a hot competition this year - and I'm actually thinking of putting it to a vote.....).
Otherwise, for creature comfort, you can't beat a cargo van. I ran the 2005 Great Midwest Relay in a mini-van. We were okay, but my van only had five people in it (11-man team), which gave us a tad more elbow room....
I look forward to seeing you in Madison!
Regards,
Tom

Subject: [MC200Relay] Re: Transportation
We used 2 mini-vans the first year of the GMR and one mini-van and one SUV the second. Both worked out (we did have additional vehicles stashed along the route as we slept "off-line").
The large vans will work out if you can get them. Part of it depends on your level of "comfort" for sleeping. Year one, we had a house to get some ZZZ in. The second year, we shuttled to a hotel. I missed the third year, but I think there was room at the Inn that year in a school and church-both on route. That will work out pretty good if that arrangement is available this year.
