We used 2 mini-vans the first year of the GMR and one mini-van and one SUV the
second. Both worked out (we did have additional vehicles stashed along the route
as we slept "off-line").

The large vans will work out if you can get them. Part of it depends on your
level of "comfort" for sleeping. Year one, we had a house to get some ZZZ in.
The second year, we shuttled to a hotel. I missed the third year, but I think
there was room at the Inn that year in a school and church-both on route. That
will work out pretty good if that arrangement is available this year.
