Most running-GPSs don't have a route-following capability, and not all routes are straight.
You are supposed to carry a phone and a copy of the map for the leg you are on. A sheet of paper in a plastic bag is a lot cheaper and more durable than any iPhone or other device I've ever seen.

I was told some people got lost last year. I am wondering why each team is not forced to have
a garmin with the route traced at the belt. Is there a reason why this is not so? Even an
IPhone today could follow the route if programmed properly.
