RE: [MC200Relay] New to MC200

Nicole-I have done 2 of these 200 Mile events, including the MC200 last year.  I would suggest that you actually try running, at least once a month,  twice in one day, within say  a 3-7 mile range, and I would stagger these about 12 hours apart.  This kind of gives you a feel for what the event will be like. I would do one run in daylight and another well after dark.

If you now train 3 times a week, 5-7 miles, with some
hills, you are close to ready. The tough part is
self-control. You need to pace over a 48-hour period
anticipating little or no sleep. The fight is three
rounds, and between rounds you have to rest when you
can. Most common runner mistake I've seen is nervous
over-drinking and over-eating of "race fuel" type
stuff. Double bad when these same runners are
uncomfortable with the porto-pot and timing out the
waiting lines.
