RE: [MC200Relay] New to MC200

On behalf of the few ultra teams, you 12 member teams have it made…we on the other hand have to run six legs each, and after last year’s 88 degrees and 88% humidity you would think we would take a year off…but NOOOO, we are back and ready for the challenge again.

Rick’s advice is good. Just make sure you get some 2 and 3 a-days in several times before race weekend. And don’t forget the adrenaline factor – you’ll be amazed at what your body can do with very little sleep.

See our ULTRA team blog at www.ultra-baal-out.blogspot.com

If you now train 3 times a week, 5-7 miles, with some
hills, you are close to ready. The tough part is
self-control. You need to pace over a 48-hour period
anticipating little or no sleep. The fight is three
rounds, and between rounds you have to rest when you
can. Most common runner mistake I've seen is nervous
over-drinking and over-eating of "race fuel" type
stuff. Double bad when these same runners are
uncomfortable with the porto-pot and timing out the
waiting lines.
