Someone once mentioned they had success with Ultralight Aircraft
fittings in plastic cycle tanks. I never tried it, but here's the
link that was given:

A rubber grommet fits into the tank, and the petcock pops into the
grommet. It doesn't strike me as a very secure arrangement, but
people taking tiny airplanes up in they sky seem to be trusting it.

I have used mid 1970's style Triumph ones on my Maico'75 250 & have found they... 1)-are reasonably priced & easy enough to find. 2)-look the part 3)-are made...
