Just a heads up:
The Trek store is a locally owned and operated bike shop just like
the others in town. Trek agreed to the use of the name in return for
stocking Trek product. It is owned by a guy that wants to step up and
run a first class store. It just so happened he wants to do it in
Charleston.
The Trek concept store was offered to Lee at the Bicycle Shoppe a
year or so ago and he turned it down. Mike's still sells Fisher and
LeMond is done anyways. Trek didn't drop anyone. They went where they
were wanted.
Stop in and check the store out. 1/2 the store is dedicated to high
end MTB parts and bikes. Something new around here.

> Just to let you know that Trek dropped the the local shops. They
pulled out of The Bicycle Shoppe and Mike's Bikes(gary fisher). I am
not happy with TREK Corp. The local shops have supported trek for a
number of years and they decided to pull out for someone that wanted
to open a corporate store. They would like for you to be loyal to
their brand but they are not loyal to the shops that have supported
them for years. I have been in the business for quite a while and
even worked for The Bicycle Shoppe. Even though I am not affiliated
with either shop I feel there has been some sort of injustice. I do
not know the people who work for the trek store and mean no animosity
towards them personally, I am sure they are good people. I have
debated on whether to send this due to karma reasons. I have started
my own Shop out of my home, and hope to have a store in the future. I
know most people on this group have a shop they prefer and I hope you
continue to support them.
