Re: [LiuSeongGungFu] Re: Martial Arts Attacks - Defending Your Long Range

It is good to see some activity here again.

You Kuntaoers are a rare and special bunch.  And a hidden treasure in a world of that is "modern martial arts".
The old ways are seldom taught or practiced outside this system.
Carl once told me many years back that Kuntao is a complete system.  I  was a late comer to this system (been training only 28 years) and did not get to meet Master Reeders before he passed from this empirical world.  But I have been bless by training with those who have.  What Master Reeders taught was a real "Mixed Martial Arts" long before it was popular to train in different aspects of the martial arts.  Whether it is Master Reeders' Silat or Chuan Fa or Kuntao, they are systems with the same philosophy , if someone makes the mistake of trying to attack you, you take control of the fight by taking to them fast and furious by attacking the attack.

Thanks to all of you who have blessed me by your friendship and willingness to share with me this art.
Enjoy the day of Thanksgiving.

As Sifu Carl said, you move into the attack, destroying the attacking
limb and making him pay for the stupidity in his actions.. By
blending into the attack, you can destroy his base and anything else
he decides to throw into the fray.. Or you can just take him down and
stomp him into a grease spot as we were taught back in the day.
Still works some 35 yrs later as it was taught the first time.
