I feel you on this one. While reading the posts, I kept thinking of
the partnering aspects of dance. I'm not a trained dancer, but
dancing is a VERY important aspect of my culture. I too find the
similarities, and use them. When dancing with a partner, you have
to control your partner. There are some dances out there where you
actually have to fight for control! LOL!
My most memorable times dancing are the times when I would just let
it go. Don't think, just flow. Let your movements flow from inside
of you, and have both you and your partners movements become one.
In the few fights that I've had, it was the same thing. Don't
think, just flow. Now with my IGF training, my flow is more
disruptive. Being subconsciously conscious of the flow of my
opponent, and trying to break that.
I know that my post is a little incoherent, sorry about that, but I
think I got too much sleep!
