I'm unclear on how serious your injury is, it might be a something as
minor as tendonitis or more serious such as a tear. The best thing to
do is get an expert that know what they are doing to take a look at it.
The general therapy for many sports injuries is RICE, or
Rest-Ice-Compress-and Elevate. Rest means taking time off to let it
heal, Ice means placing an ice compress on it (crush the ice) and
place it in a bag, frozen peas are effective, make sure you have
something between the bag and your skin so you don't get frost bite.
Compression means that you place a bit of pressure on it, this helps
prevent excess swelling, something like an ace bandage will probably
do. Elevation means to elevate your injury above your heart level,
this reduces swelling as well.
Like I mentioned earlier go get it checked by a good orthopedist.
