Thanks for the comparrison thats very cool.
Is it advances in training methods?
I can only speak for myself, I tend to discount most current training
methodology, some
what biased. Interestingly most of the people that i have learned form training
wise were
sharing their knowledge inbetween the 40's-80's. My training style is a hybrid
form of
what Art Jones, Mentzer and even Yates taught.
I do think that training methodology is the most important factor, yes even more
important than optimal nutrition, because you could eat somewhat well and train
your ass
off and still make incredible progress (can you say jail physique). If you
eatvery well but
train sub-optimally progress will level off.
I train extremely hard but intelligently the majority of the time, I seek the
underlying
principles on what works, I'm not scared to get rid of a principles which now
proves false,
I'm always seeking to improve, and I love training.
My genetics are quiet good but my mind is better. I have encountered quiet a few
people
with better genetics for bodybuilding but I surpassed them because I was more
driven,
more focused, sought accurate knowledge, sought to perfect my craft, always
sought
improvements... I also used a lot of mental techniques to take my body to
another level,
this factor I give the most weight for my progress.
Obviously I would not have been able to achieve what I have if I did'nt have the
genetic
capacity to do so. I think that I have unusual tendon and bone integrity,
nervous system
capacity, hence my ability to train very heavy for my body weight. Brutally hard
training for
a decade or more is a requirement to take the physique to that next level
without steriods.
I squatted every week for years
I deadlifted for the same
I progressely ate food even when I did'nt want to
I went to bed early instead of hanging out late
I threw up
got nauseous
threw up some more
worked through the extreme pain some more
trained through plateaus
through all things
and I was given the mind and genetics to accomplish this
To conclude I would say that I got most of what mattered right most of the time.
I hope this answers the question,
