Missouri bicyclists, walkers, runners, and trail users,
The economic stimulus plan under consideration by Congress includes
about $30 billion for roads and highways.
Missouri's Senator Claire McCaskill needs to know that Missourians
support funding for bicycling and walking transportation as part of
that transportation funding:

You know that federal transportation funding and policy is one of the
biggest reasons Missouri communities are unsafe/unfriendly for
bicycling & walking. So it is going to take changes in that policy
(ie, a nationwide Complete Streets policy) to change the situation.
We recently talked with Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill about these
issues at a public meeting, and upshot is that she is reluctant to
support funding for bicycling and walking transportation because she
doesn't feel that Missourians (especially rural and small-town
Missourians) support it.
So we need to let her know that we do!
Please take two minutes to let Sen. McCaskill know you support
bicycling and walking:

Thank you! It really does make a difference when you take the time to
speak up--and this is really an easy one.
