Hi Gentlemen and Ladies: LVRFC's Summer Sevens Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2008. This year's event will once again be a qualifying tournament for teams looking to compete in MARFU Championships and eventually the Men's National Club 7s.
Lehigh Valley's Annual Tournament is a club fundraiser which covers a large portion of the club's expenses over the course of the year and it also benefits the American Cancer Society. Regardless of whether or not you play the sevens game of rugby, all club members are asked to make an effort to solicit ads for the tournament book and sell raffle tickets for our wheelbarrow of cheer. In addition, your time will be needed prior to and on the day of the tournament to set-up and manage the venue.
The attached file is a letter that you can print out and provide to any potential advertisers or sponsors. All of the information needed is contained within the letter regarding ad cost, size, submission methods and deadline (All ads are due with payment by May 23rd, 2008). The ad book is roughly 5" X 8". I will stop by the fields this week with some samples of last year's ad book so that you can show it to potential advertisers. Thanks very much to Kerrilee Dehart (Coco's better-half) for her willingness to complete the layout again this year - she put a lot of time into last year's book and did an excellent job.
In a few weeks we will be distributing raffle tickets to be sold for a wheelbarrow of cheer. Traditionally, all members are asked to donate a bottle for the wheelbarrow. Any members under the age of 21 are asked to bring non-alcoholic items for the wheelbarrow...i.e. - mixers, cocktail nuts, snacks, etc. More information on this will be available in upcoming weeks.
