Buzzards Marathon

Less then three weeks to the Buzzard's Marathon, the best non-event of the Spring

Just a few bits of important info.

The up to date directions and general information is on the LRRC web page at http://lrrclub.org/Buzzards.html

If this is your first Buzzards I would suggest printing them and taking them with you on the run and then still run with someone who has run the course before.

Also for you first timers, nothing is guaranteed at the Buzzards except that it will not be canceled or postponed because of the weather.  Don't even call to ask the night before when its snowing like crazy, ITS ON. Don't plan on any aid but we have had an aid station at the 15 mile mark each year and are planning on it again this year. Course markings will be minimal. There is no sweep, there is no runner check in or check out and there is no search and rescue waiting to be called out. Run with somebody or set up your own "check in and check out " with a friend. Nobody's going to hold your hand on this run and nobody will be in the mood to give up any "party time" to go looking for you if you get lost.

The run starts and finishes in a Pa Game Commission parking lot. Alcohol is prohibited, be discreet. If you get busted, I don't know you or know what your doing there. Post race festivities are planned for the Thorobred Inn in nearby Grantville. Beer, bar food and war stories.

One more important subject. There are no facilities of any kind at the start/finish area, its a public parking lot. Please take care of mother natures call before you arrive. If you must answer the call after you arrive please be courteous and get completely out of sight of the parking area and carry a ziplock bag to pack out your TP.

Last but not least plan on having a great day.

Pray for snow

Harry Smith
