Subject: [SJSRA non-members] SJSRA Meeting On MONDAY May 18th 7:30PM at Saratoga Library

-----PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ANY INTERESTED REFEREES-----------

------------------------San Jose Soccer Referee Association------------------------

---------------------Training, Support, Advice, Friends & Fun----------------------

Attention SJSRA Members and all other local Soccer Referees--

The monthly meeting of the San Jose Soccer Referee Association will be held

on MondayMay 18th, starting at 7:30 PM in the Community Room at

the Saratoga Library.  See the website at www.sjsra.org for directions.

NOTE THIS IS A DIFFERENT DAY THAN USUAL DUE TO CONFLICTS WITH
THE LIBRARY SCHEDULE.

Non-members and guests are welcome and there's no charge to attend, so please

bring a friend.  The moderator for the meeting is USSF National Referee Peter Fletcher

(with help from his friends).

Agenda for the Meeting is as follows:

7:30-8:00  Good of the Game (Open Discussion of Your Questions and Issues)

8:00-9:00  Clinic Topics

USSF Referee Directive:  Handling the Ball

How a simple issue that affects every game can be more complicated than

you thought.  New USSF guidance on the simplest of all fouls, and how you

might be missing deliberate handling by the players.  Lots of videos.  Fun.

Referee Decision Making:  A Book Review

We meet in a library so it’s about time we discussed a book.  This concept

started with a presentation given a couple of years ago at USSF National Camp

about a best-selling book that discussed decision making.  See how it relates

to referees, why your decisions might often be better than you think, and how

you can guard against poor decisions.

9:00- 9:15  SJSRA Business Meeting

Upcoming Events, Club Activities, and other things you need to know.
