Hold on tight while watching. This was the descent of Unicoi Gap, the smoothest, most beautiful ribbon of banked asphalt with a down-hill grade as high at 13%. We had 11 brave LAMBRA riders start with over 3000 cyclists to drag themselves up the unbearable gradients of Wolfpen Gap, Jacks, Unicoi Gap, the never ending Hogpen Gap, Woody Gap and Neels. Next year our goal is to get 100 LAMBRA riders to the start of 6-Gap. Let's pray for no hurricanes. BTW, Randy Legai was the first place LAMBRA rider @ 5 hours, 45 minutes. He was with Cesar Grajales (beat Lance @ up Brasstown Bald) for the first 3 climbs. Way to go Randy! And yes, I know I should have gotten a ticket.
