Re: [Kiwiwalkers] Curves to Curves.

An enjoyable event once again.  And perfect weather for a good time.
Michelle lead out to a great start and then handed it onto myself to bring it home for team Lei.  we finished just under the 2 hours.

Lisa started off with great pace also and did the first two k's in 11 minutes.  She handed it onto Ian and they came in approx 12mins behind us.  Excellent seeing all the people out there for a great walk........and run.

Cheers Paul

Subject: [Kiwiwalkers] Curves to Curves.

Yesterday morning, Sunday 20th May over 600 took part in the fun walk/run from Feilding to Palmerston North.
The conditions were perfect, a complete cloud cover, no rain, no wind and about 13 degrees at the start.
The event sponsored by the ladies' gym named Curves went from their Feilding gym to their Palmerston North gym and is about 22kms covering good sealed roads and a 3km section of unsealed river track near the finish.
The event could be completed as individuals or as a relay and there was a large group of competitors who took the alternative distance of about 13km from Bunnythorpe to Palmerston North along the same route.
Being a fun event there was no official timekeeping but the first walkers home were the two person relay teams of Michelle and Andrus Lei followed closely by Lisa MacDonald and Ian Bailey. Perhaps one of these teams can give us their times. There were some very good performances put in by some of the newer faces as well as the established regular competitors.
The event was well organised and the competitors really appreciated the number of buses put on to ferry competitors to the start lines.
A big thank you to the Sponsors, the Officials and all the other competitors. Another successful Manawatu Striders event.  Paul.
