I have forwarded this message to inform all competitive walkers that Scott Newman, the long awaited CEO of Athletics New Zealand, is now a full-time employee and you will find that he is a very approachable and knowledgeable person to have at the helm of our sport.
I personally have known Scott since his primary school days and he will do a very good job for the whole sport.

Scott Newman takes up appointment as CEO of Athletics New Zealand
Scott Newman started his new role as chief executive officer of Athletics New Zealand in Wellington today.
Newman, three times New Zealand triple jump champion in the 1990's, was previously CEO at New Zealand Water Polo.
Newman said that he was looking forward to the challenge.
"There is much to address and I will be taking a sound and considered approach.
"The Board and I will work through the strategies and the initial must dos and get on with it," said Newman.
He attended the New Zealand track and field championships in Inglewood over the weekend and spent the first day with the organisation attending a board of directors meeting in New Plymouth.
