Subject: ozwalker02 World record!!!
If you weren't here in Geelong today you missed something big.
Nathan broke the world record finishing with 3.35.47 16 seconds under the old mark of 3.36.03. Tough on a course with 16 turns, with 5 different surfaces (concrete, boardwalk, carpet, road, and the odd cobblestones) and windy, which really blew up later in the race. It's one of the best world records I've witnessed.
In 2 more outstanding performances, Duane Cousins was second in a PB time of 3.53.18 (1.17 better than his mark in 1994) with 22yo Jared Talent 3rd at his 50km debut in 3.55.03. All are A qualifiers for the the World champs next year.
Nat Saville took out the women's 20km in 1.34 (not sure of the seconds) from Kellie Wapshot, who another PB with 1.35. Claire Woods took 3rd catching Michelle French on the last 2km lap. Claire walked 1.37 low, while Michelle PB'ed again with a 1.37 high. All performances were B qualifiers for wordl champs next year.
