Hi, I have received communication from the President of Racewalking Australia inviting us to participate in postal events competing against Australians and South Africans who have indicated that they are definitely interested.
The suggestion is that various interested clubs or groups would, on a particular day, conduct a race over a specific distance with all results going to a central point for collation and placings awarded accordingly. The collation point is already established.
I have raised the idea that because we have only small numbers compared with Australia that consideration be given to making some events handicap events with handicaps based on recent best times of the athletes. This would give everyone a chance of success.
I would like to know how the members of this group feel about the suggestions. Would you like to compete in international postal events? Don't be put off because of costs as I believe that there will be no cost as the internet will provide all of the organisational communication needed. I feel that this is a most attractive offer.
Please reply via the group asap.
Cheers, Paul.
