Bob, you say the most eloquent things. Thank you. I really hate the
fact that I know how each and every one of Dale's fans feels. We know
these drivers better than we know some of our own family. to lose one,
even one you dislike as a competitor, feels like a family member has been
lost. I am in total agreement with Lisa. Dale did a very
un-Earnhardt-like thing by not charging toward the front, and protecting
the win for his two drivers. The pride he must have felt in his last
moments! My respect for him shot way up after seeing that, even before
his wreck. For the rest of my life, if anyone ever asks me what I
thought of Dale Earnhardt, I'll say he was a pain in the ass at times,
but one of the greatest drivers who ever lived, second only to Richard
Petty. Nikki, please give your boyfriend my sympathies. I know how
supportive he was for you 7 months ago.
