Nikki,
Nobody can believe this. Tell your boyfriend that I'm sorry for the
loss of his favorite driver. Isn't it amazing how these drivers come into
our lives the way that they do. A few people I knew were fans of Dale's,
said that it was as if a member of their family had died. I said "we watch
these guys every week, all year long, we probably "see" these guys
sometimes more than we do our family". When Davey Allison died, I thought
I'd get over it after a while. It still bothers me a lot that Davey is
gone. I don't think you can ever get over the loss of someone like this.
You just have to be greatful that you got to witness such talent and that
you got to know such a great person like Davey, Alan, Kenny and Dale, not
to forget any of the other great drivers that passed away. I'm going to be
a #28 fan forever probably, but thank God Dale gave us a son like Jr. to
carry on the Earnhardt name. It looks like there will be a lot more of red
shirts in the crowd from now on. Hopefully Dale Sr. fans will remain Dale
fans and cheer Jr. on. I also hope that Jr. goes on to have a great racing
career like his father. It's not going to be easy for a long time Nikki.
Continue to help each other out. Take care.
