Tammy
I dont write much because I too feel a huge loss, I
try not to be sad, because Kenny always brought a
smile to my face and I looked foreward to our
meetings, The last time I saw him was California 2000,
I barrowed a camera and it didnt work :( I was so
bummed that Kenny said dont worry Phoenix, Ill have
something special for you in Phoenix, I often wonder
what it was, but I dont care, I just miss him.
Oh he called me Phoenix because thats where we first
met after his first race in truck #98, it was Phoenix
1996,I thought it would be Butch Miller climbing out
after he crashed on the last lap but out climbed this
skinny kid, who was replacing Butch for the 1997
season, I asked a crew member for a piece of the
truck, he ripped of the headlight and Kenny was kind
enough to sign it, as I walked away I kept turning
around an looking at him thinking, "Did I just meet
who I think I met? A nice guy"
I was going to give the signed headlight to my brother
whos last name is Irwin, (His dad is Phil Irwin, The
guy Joe Dimaggio hired to watch Maryln Monroe) But I
was so impressed with Kenny that I kept it and every
year after that made it a point to go to Phoenix to
see Kenny, I was always in his face with the camera
and didnt ask for to many autographs.
Any thats the most Ive said in a while, In Short your
not the only one out there Tammy, MANY fans miss
Kenny, I miss Kenny and will NEVER for get him :)
The sport just isnt the same without Kenny...... Eric
