Ok it will help to understand, a "Tach" signal will be a crank position signal. Since the crank gives the tach its 1 rotation per minute (rpm) reading. The PIP (profile ignintion pickup) sensor is standard in the industry for telling the ignition module when to fire the coils (or round about the ignition map) and usually comes from the crank. Its only recently that the EFI systems out there use a cam sensor also. The have the CPU look at the 2 sensors together to figure out complex ignition and fuel mapping. I think you will be able to set up a mega squirt sytem just fine with the PIP alone. So go for it take pics and post them on the website. Its also important to post your failures to so as to help any others following you.

where is the pip wire for the crank sensor??? just got the 06-07 gsxr tbs in. they are tight on the intake but fit solid. should have some vids and pics up...
