Very technical and narrow with steep cliffs, we nearly lost a friend of the cliff (who happens to be on this list). Lucky for him he has cat like skills and somehow caught himself about 20' down before falling all the way to the river. That being said, if you like technical riding with lots of a rocks and great views of the kern river along the way, its a great ride, I'll do it again anytime!

I'm a rider out of Bakersfield. I plan on doing an overnighter starting at Sherman Pass. The plan is to head up to Sherman Peak then down to Cedar Canyon and then, either hit the River Trail, out at the bridge, a few miles on the hwy down to Fairview and then Whiskey Flat to Kernville or take the Rincon Trail from Cedar Canyon all the way down to Ant Canyon. Question: are the Rincon Trail conditions friendly to mtn. bikes? Sand? Hikeabike? I saw that Sierrasojouner did the first part of the ride down to the bridge. And how technical is the 4 miles of the River Trail? thanks.
