I also ride and kayak. In the spring I pretty much hang up the bike to boat. Drop me a line if you are ever headed to the kern to boat (gene hacker at mchsi dot com)
I don't know what riding is close to Visalia. We sometimes ride up near Quaking Aspen/Camp Nelson...there are some great trails around there. The nelson trail is technical but reasonable....good stuff!
