That's a good idea.

They are kind of busy with the credits underneath.

I'll look at doing a mouseover. I do it for the buttons on the editor.

Good idea, Lance!

Good question.

Let's go with front loading for now.

It's likely the frame. My (700C) P/R does the exact same thing.
Fortunately the bike has horizontal dropouts so you can adjust the
wheel so it's centered -- at least that's what I do. And FWIW, I
did have the alignment checked on my frame, and the chainstays are
correctly spaced with respect to the BB. [photo @

I'll add my two cents about photo credits and web design. As a former photojournalist (from the world's first and foremost school of journalism), I think that web design looks very cluttered with putting the credit under the photos. I'd like if someone programmed a credit bar that appears when you put the cursor on top of the photo. It seems like it would be easy to do (like Flcker does for enlarging pics). Just seems like a neat way to achieve the goals of clean design and recognizing the people who take the pictures.

KOGs,

I joined the group last month, but haven't had anything to contribute, or ask, until now.

I just finished building the wheels for my new 650b P/R.  I used synergy asymmetric rear laced to ultegra 9spd hub.  Both the park dish tool, and flipping the wheel in the truing stand tell me it is well centered.  When I mount the wheel (snug in drop outs) it is off center towards left (non drive side).  I realized I didn’t space the 130 mm hub out for the 135 mm dropouts.  Could that be the problem?

I stole the exact same wheel from my wife’s bleriot (also 135mm). Her wheel was built by someone far more competent than me, and appears to be spaced out to ~133 mm (2 mm on left, 1 mm on right?).   A quick check with dish tool says her wheel is also well centered.

When I mount her wheel on the P/R it is off center to left, not as much as my wheel, but still slightly off.  Could this be the frame? Should I simply dish the wheel more towards drive side so it is centered in frame?  Bring it to Bike shop? Just ride it (that’s what I did today…couldn’t help myself).

Any help is appreciated - dan

I like Drupal.

It does what I want.

But I like to do all the coding because I then understand
the system from the inside out.

The only real coding was the editor. The rest was
super straight forward css and php. (And so I -can-
actually make it black on white if I just change the
two bitmaps and modify the css.)

But the editor is worth it because it makes creating
new pages SUPER easy. I'm going to go make a
new frame geometry page and it will take me about
five minutes to code (and an hour and a half to do
the image work).

Thanks, Jim.

It's been about six months since I wrote that and I can't
remember what I was trying to accomplish.

I'll see if I can remember.

I'm sort of hoping that Wetpaint releases their embeddable

I took special care to build captions into images so
that I could give credit where it is due.

Because you helped me understand the importance
of such attributions.

I've given Vaughn credit for his photo. And if I can

The "javascript:" is a psuedo-protocol, akin to "http:" but it's not
an official adopted syntax -- it's only used to tell a browser that
the following is Javascript.

"onclick" is a DOM-0 method of attaching a Javascript event to a web-
page element. Hence, it already implies Javascript, so
having "onclick=javascript" is redundant and syntactically incorrect.

Using "href=javascript" is technically not incorrect (although it's
poor style and non-semantic) but since you already have the "onclick"
event handler, any Javascript should be executed through that trigger,
not through the href attribute.

Finally, this syntax looks wrong to me: "function Z(){Z=''}Z()". It
looks like you're trying to define function Z which assigns a null
character to variable Z and then call function Z. Written more
clearly:

function Z() {
   Z = '';
}

Z();

Z, as declared within the wrapping function, is a global variable here
since the "var" keyword isn't used, so first you're declaring it as a
function, then assigning it a string value, but then finally calling
it as a function...?

The best/simplest way to write this would be

<input type="submit" name="submit" value="submit to table" />

and put that element within the <form> tags.

Which photo was that? I recall a photograph of a nice looking young
lady cornering on a P/R with drop bars. As best I can remember she
had one hand on the flat and the other in the drop applying the brake.
  Wearing a funky helmet, too. Anyway, that one was my favorite, but

The "submit to table" button doesn't do anything for me on IE6 on
WinXP....

<a onclick="javascript:document.formNAME.submit()"
href="javascript:function Z(){Z=''}Z()">

isn't the right way to code this.

He still doesn't have any method to attribute photos either. That
bugs me (and is why all of the photos that I took aren't on the site
anymore, even the one that was the cover photo for about 4 months last
year).

Photo attributions aren't only about getting recognition. They are
also a helpful way to find out who knows the backround on one of the
bikes listed there. Kogswells tend to get unique builds and often it
is nice to find the owner of one to ask them a question.

I'm disappointed that as time goes on the Kogswell site has less
content instead of more. I miss the blueprints. Today you can't
even get a list of what models are offered, what the wheel sizes
are, and what the frame sizes are.
