Hello all, I'm new to trikes and have a Tornado on order when they come
in mid-April. Anyone else have one on order, and if so, which model?
I wish I could get the Cobra with the 24/20 wheels, but can't afford it
right now. See ya!!

Hey Dave,
The only pictures I have seen were the ones on BROL. I've looked but
there is nothing else around that I've managed to come up with.
I want to replace my Stein this year, which was one of the first ones
he built. If you know what I mean:-)
I've been looking at KMX for a couple of years now. These new models
may have made the wait worth my while. The new trikes from Sun in
that same BROL piece looked nice too. I was close last year, either an
Actionbent most likely the Apoyo or KMX and I wound up doing nothing.
I heard that Apoyo had some frame issues too, but I'm not crazy about
aluminium so.
There is just something about the KMX that draws me, they look
bulletproof. After my Stein experience that's what I'm looking for.

Jim,
I have heard that the new models will be in America and ready to ship
by March (mid). I am as anxious as you to see a new one in my grip.
Have you had a chance to view the models that will be available?

Dave,
Have you heard any news on the arrival of the models? Think I read
that the January was a target date, but you know how that goes?
Regards
Jim
I do - like everything on the KMX, they took a bit of dialling in.... They're
not at all wide
enough for the stock tyres, and the rear is not long enough (see below). Tad
expensive as
well, I feel. Still, massively better than nothing. They are snug and look good
(bit like a
Lotus Super 7).
Then I discovered how well the seat soaks through from the back (the rear
mudguard ends
above the flag holder), and it was time to have a think.
What I also did was take the original stubby rear mudguard, flip it over, and
fit it to the
bottom of the flag holder (drill small hole, add longish skinny bolt, nuts and
washers).
This effectively extends the rear mudguard down to the frame.

The dictionary definition of "fenders":
"A guard over each wheel of a vehicle, for example, that is shaped and
positioned so as to block the splashing of water or mud."

After 3 months touring in the USA I gave in and started calling
them "Fenders".
Because of OZ historical links to those KMX Poms like Alan we call 'em
Mudguards too.
Fender, sounds like something you fend another vehicle off with, owell,
when in Rome...
Dave I love the rt, looked at a lot of trikes before the purchase.I
have added the rear rack schwalbe marathons on the lite weigth wheel
set cycle computer tera cycle power idler shown in pic made big
differance in speed average. Love that rear brake enables 180 degree
turns neat. My son likes getting up on two wheels and doing 180s on his
k kart. thank for your intrest Scott
Planning to do the tour of Northern Idaho along the Trail of the
Coeur d'Alene's. I will be renting KMX's (the new ones) for those
that want a trike to ride but either doesn't have a trike, wants to
ride the KMX's (test) or doesn't want to transport theirs.
There will be several people showing as did last year so, if you want
to meet them all, please show up. If we plan it and pay ahead, we can
get group rates on the hotels.
questions I need answered:
Do you want to go?
Will you be needing a trike or more? (adult or child)
Early June, Middle or late. (the tour will be taking place from
Sunday to Wednesday for those that want to plan) You can ride any of
the days and will be welcome to meet up along the way.
It can be fully sagged, partially or you can ride on your own. The
sag vehicle will be the same as last year but will have more water
(so we don't run out again), snacks and conversation (whether you
like it or not).
Please let me know if this sounds appealing to you and we will
continue to plan and update up until the end.
Yes they are available for the front wheels.
KMX calls them "mudguards".

I commute on mine most days.
My trip is much shorter though (only 1.5 miles)
Your only issue will be not getting run over.
Get a big flag, lots of lights and maybe a pistol.
I am in Northwest Ohio and I wish it was as bike-friendly as Seattle.
As for the KMX itself, it would be a good choice.
The braking is very good and balanced.
If you are hauling cargo the available racks are limited.
I built a rack for my X class and included a headrest that is very
nice for longer rides.
In Seattle the fenders are a must.
If the pavement is wet, the front tires throw up a lot of water.
The hookworm tires sling more water than the tires on my wife's ST
class.

Hi,
I am thinking about using a tricycle for commute. Never had one and doing
extensive
research on different trikes I found KMX. Looks great and not too expensive,
most
importantly has a lot of options that I like - brakes on all wheels etc.
My commute is 15 miles one way and I live in seattle area, so you can imagine
fenders are
must on all three wheels and very good brakes as well. Also, I like to go fast
20m/h.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks very much.

Bryan Ball from www.bentrideronline.com has reported on new KMX

well i finaly bought a k kart for my boy and an rt for myself today
now the wait. will post pics when i get them setup. anyone have a
sugestion on tires for the extra wheels thanks scott
I took a few trikes up north with me to tour the CDA trail, Hiawatha
and the centennial trail. Loaned out them to whomever wanted to ride.
One kid (8-10 years old) rode the k class for 40 miles the first day
and 26 miles the second day. While riding with him, he averaged
between 10 and 12 mph for the total.
It can be done with a little comfort. I add padding they use on
hardshell seats and a little strap for this.
I deleted the post and the member but those of you with the
