Hi! :-)
My name is Ana and i'm about to become a KMX owner, too. :-) I first saw
them at last year's Eurobike. My boyfriend had a go in an X Class at the
test track outside, but i was too short (1.55 m) for it so i could just
watch him having a blast. :-/ But i got lucky later because a nice
person from the "german KMX" stand lent me a K Class to go for a spin in
the Messe's hall. :-D It was my first time ever riding a recumbent
trike and i fell in love with it. ;-) I'm about to start promoting them
around my country and try to sell them to retailers and rental shops so
that more people can discover trikes and have fun with them. Let's see
how it goes. :-)
As the delivery day approaches we started to wonder about how can we
(and the customers) carry the karts around. I and my boyfriend and
partner have "normal bikes" that we used to ride to whichever
destination we wanted to go (we didn't have those bike racks for cars).
In the meanwhile we bought (and started selling, too) folding bikes,
which we take on public transit or in the trunk of the car, so we
postponed once more buying the bike racks for the car. Now with the
karts we though that other owners might take them on top of the car
using 3 bike racks, or in a trailer, or in the trunk of jeeps, SUVs or
vans... I already had my doubts on wether i could ever lift my "normal"
bike (18 kgs) on to the car roof all by myself without destroying
anything. I'm sure i couldn't do it with a 20 or 24 kg KMX trike! :-P
We'll find a solution but i'm curious to know how other owners deal with
this particular aspect of owning a trike.
If I could, this would never be a problem as I would just ride the kart
to wherever place I want to go, but that is rarely possible. :-(
Thanks for your time!
Cheers,
Ana
