Hello Jen,

I have been rexing for about a year now. I skate out of San Jose Skate,
formally known as Aloha Roller Pallace or Roxies. I rex, spin, jump, do a
little artistic. I'm working on flying but that's a really hard one to get
down. We have practice every Friday and Saturday, Fri - 5:30 to 6:30, Sat -
6:00 to 11:00. If you would like ot come down please be my guest. The first
"practice" is free. I would really apreciate you comming down. I am the only
blader coach but I've had to take everything from quads and transfer it to
inlines without any real instruction. It would be great to meet someone that
was taught properly. Thanx for the reply.

Hi,

Yes! rockering will help a lot however you should turn forward 3s on the
front wheels and backward 3s on the back wheels.
Remember: Rotate the shoulders first and then the hips! Try this first on
two feet and then on one foot.

Hi All,

I´ve just found the group and would like to say hello!

I´m from Rio, Brazil and have been (roller) skating
since I was a
kid. As I never had any coaching, I just learned what
I could guess
out from ice shows I used to attend, actually most of
the basic moves
and even a modest waltz jump, but veeeery poor
spins...
From a few years to now, I got inlines and have been
trying to
improve my moves with then. For now I can´t buy PIC
skates, there are
no resellers around and they end up a little
expensive, but it looks
just perfect for what I need! meanwhile, guess I´ll
have to stick to
my traditional inlines.
I have lots of questions and will come to then in
time,
but I´d like ask if someone could give me some hints
on how to do
good 3 turns with non PIC inlines (can´t get to do it
with those darn
things :-D). One second thing: rockering my inlines
with smaller
wheels at the front and back positions can actually
work??
Thanx
Rogerio

Join us for three days of group skates in the Philadelphia area with the
emphasis on varied scenery and terrain. This is not your regular
recreational roll through the park! Picture 600 skaters, with a police
escort, rolling through the downtown streets with skyscrapers, through
subway tunnels, over bridges, up and especially DOWN smooth hills and
through historic neighborhoods and unique places in Philadelphia!

Event schedule, skill level, registration and accommodation information is
available on our website:
http://www.phillyskatejam.org/

Registration is now open. Take a look at the site, and if you have further
questions, just reply to this email.

Sincerely,

The Philly Skate Jam Committee

I guess I'm just spoiled living in California. Today is the first time it has
rained since December. It's been cold, but cold for us is below 60 degrees.
Sometime I skate indoors at a roller rink.
I've also been doing a lot of ice skating, but that is because I injured myself
on my inlines, and I feel more confident on the ice. There are also more ice
rinks around here than roller rinks. I usually ice skate at the same facility
that the San Jose Sharks practice at. That place has 2 NHL size sheets of ice
and one Olympic size.
Sincerely,
Jennifer

My all-too-lame excuse is...winter. I don't know where you are, but here
we've had two months where the temp has rarely gotten above freezing and
there's been snow on the ground almost constantly.

I do most of my skating on the ice, but I really do want to master the PIC
frames. I have noticed that there's a lot more traction on pavement-try to
do a basic figure 8- so it's a bit more frustrating, and intimidating. I'm
cautious about doing toe loops on pavement but will go at an axel on the ice
with no hesitation. Ice is kinder to the bones than pavement.

If you want to e-mail back and forth till the forum picks up, that's cool.

Monica

Hi Jennifer, I have been watching to see if there were any new
