Wow! Wow! Eureka plus!
Been reading Jo Ann's book and Marion's suggestions and working on
the spinning stuff. Wham! It hits me. I am beginning to get a One
Foot Spin and Scratch Spin. Not like a top yet, but it's coming. Like
the World, just one revolution at a time.
Now I am no Wylie (yes, intended) veteran of le'ice and just a street
guy on old Rollerblade BoxCar aggressive skates, so I've got to get
way, way, up on the toe (front wheel)to make it flow, but can feel
and sorta do it and it feels great.
I can only imagine how much better it would be on PIC skates with the
front wheel more under the ball of the foot. (Still trying to figure
out how to fit my wide foot.)
Doing a Two foot Spin I was all conderned about continuing rotation
and then I saw where Marion said she had a "cheat" move where she
pumped her right foot once to aid that. I didn't want to get in bad
habits so I avoided that when tempted before, but it works.
Am I to undertand I won't be twirling like the ice guys on TV on in-
lines? I watched the Coaches Video from PIC and those guys are
spinning pretty well on one foot.
So, any and all suggestions on keeping momentum and spinning more
revoltions will be appreciated.
I am working on even weight, centering, bent knee and Marion's
suggestions to pull arms in and down and they are all helping.
It's just where does the spin momentum come from and how much can one
expect(make that hope)to get?
