I skate in my PICskates all the time, but rarely really get a chance to ice
skate since as an ice skating coach, I just get too busy. Lately, I've
noticed that there is really very little difference between PICskating and
figure skating.
Anyway, tonight, my kids wanted to ice skate and I was amazed with my ice
skating! Remember THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN or WOMAN? That's how I felt!
PicSkating has made my ice skating skills so much BETTER! I truly felt like
a superwoman tonight! I felt like I was flying, since the PICskates are so
much heavier than blades.
My 5 year old daughter, Rebekah, is also showing that PICskating has
improved her ice skating. She has magically, with no instruction, become
quite an ice skater.....her speed shocks everyone. She spins and jumps and
is having a blast both on her PICskates and her figure skates.
Also, I've been testing out a pair of GAM boots from the PICSKATE Company,
and it might be my imagination, but the boot seemed like magic too!
I am now thinking that cross-training in PICskates will do nothing but
improve figure skating skills.
Happy Skating and Happy 4th!
