When I work up a new load, I work my way up about .2 of a grain. Although this takes time, it is the safest way to do it when a bullet/powder combo is not listed in the manual. I load about 10 or 12 of each and then test 3 or 4 for power factor through the chronograph and the rest for accuracy. I have worked up a number of loads this way with great success. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your quick reply....
I have several manuals and a Chronograph.... Unfortunatley, my bullets are not listed in any of the manuals, and I see max loads from 3.7 to 4.9 grains in the manuals depending on the type of bullet....
I tested 3.7 grains on a Chronograph but only get about 675 FPS... I am afraid to load any higher...

My Lyman & Speer manuals say you can go up to 4.2 gr of Bullseye with a 158 gr bullet. This should get you to 880 fps. If your gun is rated for +P, this should...
