There's a club meeting tonight and I'm asking all that can attend to
please come. Don't forget to wear you IDPA garb so everyone knows who
we are.
There is an issue that we need to discus with the board. as the
people that were at the last match know, the board asked that we
don't load mags in the main club room. AS a saftey officer, I
couldn't how that makes any thing any safer so I asked that they drop
that rule and they did. However, now they said that they don't want
us going outside of the building with our guns on. They feel that if
someone were to stroll through our property (our private property)
they don't want them to see a bunch of guys wearing guns. I do
understand that with our neighbors getting closer and closer it's
best to keep low key. There's actully an article on this in Guns and
Ammo this month. My problem with this is there will be a lot more gun
handling (just to have a smoke you would have to bag your gun. I'm am
going to propose that we keep our guns on but make sure they are
covered. That's what we do in our sport anyway right? The guys on the
board do listen to reason but I think most of them don't really
understand our sport. But they are gun guys just like us. So we need
to have good two way dialog.
Show up for the meeting, remind them that most of the guys that shoot
IDPA are also club members.
Remember, you can use this site to talk about these issues and other
questions you might have about IDPA and would like to talk about as a
group.
Hope to see you tonight, John
