As I see it, here is our problem: our membership is painted in a thin
strip along the two coasts. Ideally, we would use Wichita, KS or Omaha, NE
(or somehwere near...St. Louis, MO?). Easy and cheap to fly to, and set
up for conventions for exactly that reason. No one's flight is over three
hours, so no jet lag or losing a day to travel.
The downside...no one on the ground there to set things up. A hotel is
easy enough to arrange, but an event hall? And then, of course, the "what
if" stuff--medical staff/emergency clinic, an office supply place, etc.
Would it be worth making a call to some tourist bureaus/chambers of
commerce?
Or are we just rejecting any place without a local US-ITD instructor?
